I'll attempt to use Mother from La Mulana
She's a goddess, her first form is that of a blue face (pictured below) her others are a blue humanoid skeleton and white spirit
According to the wiki she's created 8 "races of children" to send her back to heaven. Humans are the 8th and the first 7 are gone so presumably if a generation fails to kill her here, that race is killed..or something
Anyways, worth a shot

Tenshi is from the fighting games, lots of bullets yes, but still its used as a slicing melee weapon there
