We will be watching this thread VERY CLOSELY. No asinine shit or trolling, because we'll delete your post. Serious discussion is all I ask. This is anything you want to ask, and Loli started out with a religious topic. Bring up anything you want, discuss whatever, but keep it mature.

Due to recent events, we will also keep the thread locked as long as nobody feels the need to discuss something taboo. If you would like for it to be opened, please PM us! We'll unlock it as soon as we can. ~proletariats

Since religion is spiraling out of control, and going into several different threads in topics that it shouldn't be in, get it out of your system here and now.

I, personally, am an Atheist. I believe in Gay marriage, pro-choice and sex before marriage. If you have any problem with this, please do PM me and we can discuss this one-on-one.

If you guys get into a fight, this thread has a daisies good chance of getting deleted/locked. Keep it clean and controlled, please. I don't want this one thread to start any drama, because we've all had enough of that.

Thank you.

High five for matching belief systems!

Except for the whole Pro-Choice thing. But I never debate about stuff like that anyway.

I stand by my statement that no matter how you look at it, any gods that may or may not have existed, that may or may not have created this universe, are in fact anything other than loving, or even apathetic. They are genuinely malicious and by definition evil, and not in any which way shape or form deserving of worship.

...

On that same note, if you are to go by the Christian story, and follow the Bible, it's absurdly obvious that the Christian god is the single most evil creation of the human mind, and that no fictional character has ever been crafted that possesses the pure unadulterated evil that Jehova had. Not only that, but Satan is the good guy who is trying to get humans to open their eyes and stand up to the tyrant.

...

Of course, there is no gods, so the point is moot either way.

EDIT: Yes I am a member of the Church of Satan for those of you keen enough to pick that up.

I'm agnostic, and I frequently ponder starting my own religion. I am prochoice, believe in gay marriage, and I don't care about sex before marriage.

:awesome:

I'm not religious at all. I wouldn't say I'm an athiest, because it's definity implies the "BELIEF THAT THERE IS NO GOD". I'm most likely closer to agnostic, because I honestly wouldn't know. Nothing seems to tell me one exists, but I don't outright deny the fact that I would like one to exist. Namely Apollo. He was a sexy beast.

Anyway, I just don't care about religion at all. Within the scope of the universe, does it really matter? Does anything really matter? I just want to have a good, fun life. I'll live within the norms and values of society that my beliefs allow me too. But there are still a lot of things I either don't agree with, or just don't care. Like marriage. I believe it's meant to be a religious ceremony of, within Abrahamic faiths, the union of a man and a woman to produce children and continue the human race under it's religious values and moralities. That's the way I see it. But not being religious myself, I doubt I'll ever be "married". I don't really care.

I had a bad taste in my mouth with Christianity due to my Aunts, so I gave it up. My Dad was agnositc, being more scientific than religious, but he has beliefs that combine both. I do to, but I consider myself a Discordion. I like the idea of a religion that doesn't take life seriously, as I don't myself.

I'm a proud Christian and I have always been one for my whole life.
Of course, I went through a time when I questioned God's existence, but I came out of that phase still believing in him.

I'm generally very open-minded towards others about their different beliefs. It's entirely their personal problem that I do not want to go out of my way to try and disprove or make them feel terrible for believing in it. I respect people for what they believe in and I get the same respect back.
What goes on in your spirituality is between you and your god, yourself or whatever else you believe.

I have nothing wrong with Gay people, even before my mother got a girlfriend. I'm pro-life and I don't mind sex before marriage as long as it's with a careful choice of partner.
Also, I'm totally a science geek, and I believe in evolution.
TL;DR

I used to be Christian, but now I'm more agnostic. I definitely don't believe in God in the same sense as a Church, I just like to think that there is a possibility that it exists. If there is such a thing as afterlife, I think that reincarnation could be the most likely, not based on karma though.

What does everyone else think of afterlife?

Well, this pretty much sums up me! Of course, I don't want to be one of "those" Christians, yelling out "REPENT" and "CONVERT". I just believe in my own thing, and I won't let my religion alter my judgement (seeing as I'm okay with gays).

To be honest, I don't believe most things in the bible. I just believe in a god.

Hell is a prison, you go there for a set amount of time unless you were REALLY bad, then you're there for life. Heaven is whatever you wish it to be, as its your reward for living a good and respectable life and not being a dick.

Reincarnation(Heaven), and a Super Jail Esque environment(Hell).

Reincarnation.

Me too. Through the Circle of Life. When I die, I reincarnate myself as an energy and nutritional source for all other life forms in the world, which are then reincarnated as energy/nutrient source for larger life forms, and so on and so forth.

Ehh, Reincarnation is a pretty depressing concept to me.

From what I know of it, you're just being eternally seperated from all the people you knew and loved in your first life. The fact that you don't remember it is even more depressing.

Heaven of course. Nice place I bet. I'm not doubting there's a good chance there's reincarnation.

I believe hell exists in the sense that you do terrible things in your life without repenting, you're going to be suffering for the rest of your life. A Mental thing sorta.
Still debating to myself if there's a hell in the sense that it's a "Place of Fire and pain and torment" or not. hur
