If he gets to hit them. Seems like crowd control would be able to stunlock him into oblivion, unless I'm missing something that'd help against them. Sleep, slow, push, prone, all that fun stuff.

That's why he's got plenty of utilities that let him save often and with bonuses. Also some of his attacks are invigorating and allow him to heal himself.

He's far from perfect, but he's the best I can do for now.

In other news, PAX still doesn't have a schedule up yet so I don't know for sure if there will be another session of D&D with Acquisitions Incorporated.

I was gonna' put this in the Dumb Text thread, but it seemed more appropriate for this thread.

100 story prompt ideas for a DnD campaign.

I liked #39, partly because it's hilarious and partly because it might actually be an interesting idea to do.

That and the bored lich ones.

This actually sounds like a very bad idea.

I like #97 though.

Trying to build a character in DnD is like finding out that the base game has additions and they're spread out over all sorts of different magazines, articles, manuals, etc and there is no cohesive index of all of them unless you spend cheddar to use the official character builder.

There are some wikis that are fairly good. Not all of them have everything though.

Today in my Pathfinder campaign, the party defeated a very powerful CR 14 creature effortlessly by using a spell to drop it into a 50 ft pit filled with spikes. As he tried to climb out, they cast grease on the walls of the pit so he kept falling and taking spike damage.

This is easily the best solution to a difficult encounter that our party has ever done. I'm very proud of them.

Sounds similar to what my party did for a boss who was riding a dinosaur. We knocked him off the dinosaur, the wizard lifted it up with magic, and then we kind of just dropped it right on the boss. He kept failing attempts to get out from underneath it so he was considered prone...for several full rounds of the party beating on him.

Anyways, my DM has access to the character builder and I know what feats to look for when he gets on next. Been looking at a Hexblade guide from the WotC forum that gives some really helpful tips. For example, taking the Feats of Arcane Implement Proficiency: Light Blade and Dual Implement Spellcaster together.

So far I've got a Feyblade with those two feats plus White Lotus Riposte and Practiced Killer (Assassin multiclass feat). Next one is either going to be either Deft Blade, Cursed Shadow, Silvery Glow, or World Serpent's Grasp.

I'm thinking of making a BPRD themed campaign for the next time I host.

Everyone will play as special agents investigating paranormal incidents and whatnot.

Problem is I'm having trouble on what the last couple classes would be. So far I have Medium, Cleric and Soldier.
Mediums would be the only class who can see and commune with ghosts. High levels would be able to allow spirits to enter their body and temporarily alter their stats to the dead person's. The BPRD hires mediums so this one is kind of a no brainer.
Clerics would do holy stuff like exorcise demons, bless items and possibly heal. Priests and clerics have shown up in Hellboy and BPRD comics forever so I figured it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that the BPRD would contract some.
and Soldiers would have proficiency in most weapons, but have no ties to the paranormal.
I think I'll probably need at least two more classes

Shaman - They can make pacts with particularly strong spirits to use their power
Revenant - Spirits possessing a corpse in order to fulfill a purpose they cling to
