Yeah, I dunno if it would work here. Multiple paths would be sweet, but there's the whole 'you're deciding who lives and who dies', and maybe it wouldn't work too well for the plot, having a lot of unneeded bad endings or stuff like that. Games like 999 let you choose your path because it's not as clear as here that 'hey, someone'll likely die. Like, a 99% chance someone will'. You know that danger lurks there, but it's not as right away as in Dangan Ronpa.
Besides, it would diminish the 'there's no going back after you fall prey to despair' thing Monobear (or kuma, don't know how the translation's going) wants to show. You snap, you suffer for it, basically. Having the chance of stopping someone who would kill and being able to let them survive would be a bit odd, I dunno.
But really, you shouldn't read the spoilers. Despite most of it being jokes. Some of the stuff gets pretty obvious as you progress through the game, but it's better if you even find those things on your own.
I mean, in real life there's also the chance of stopping someone from doing something like that.
Especially in a setting as this, where they basically get pushed to it through the bear's psychological terror there should be a chance to talk sense into people.
I'm just a guy who likes to 100% games, and now I'm stuck with
2 dead people who I didn't get to socialize with at all. Unless there's a new game+ kinda deal where my character files stay from the last playthrough, or the possibility to get everything from socializing with the people I know are going to die soon, I'll be disappointed.
Prediction time:
People I can totally see trying to kill someone: Togami, Oogami, Celes, What's her name again the author girl, What's his face the Delinquent
People I would not expect killing someone: Kirigiri, Me, q.t.3.14 programmer girl who was my mafia role, Asahina,No need to tell me how wrong I am, this is just as reference for when I'm done.
