What I find hilarious is she swears the most out of everyone there.
If she gets eliminated, she'll shit her pants.
I recently got into Strip Search because I was archive binging during finals week and whoops, haven't been on PA in months, so missed everything.
I like how they hit you with how great all of the people are. The show really benefits from the amount of time they invest in the people rather than the ideas, which makes sense for a show like this. You don't care too much about a chef in a cooking show, you just want to know what they can produce.
The first elimination was pretty sad even though I agreed that
Alex was the weaker of the two, and solidified my love of Katie keeping strong, and I had some mixed feelings about Amy throwing Katie under the bus because I felt the T-shirt design really wasn't that bad outside of the third arm not being opaque enough for movement. However, over the next few episodes, I warmed up to her and saw how much she struggled with trying to not have to be in that position again and her fears of getting attached to the competitors,
which made her elimination later even sadder. I wasn't particularly unhappy to see
Ty go, and I think he was the easiest for me to let go of because I agreed with Mike and Jerry and I didn't really connect much to him, but I would have loved to see more of him because of how little we got. I was so goddamn sad about the third elimination, and
Lexxy's comic was PERFECT. It was both classy and unassuming and... goddamn. I'm definitely glad
she came back, even at the expense of Nick and Mac, who I felt didn't really give it their all, maybe because of the lack of a tense environment? The latest elimination was kinda hard too, I loved both of them, so it's sad to see
Erika go. I kinda felt that
Abby's comic was a bit "done" before though, I mean, the whole gentleman not caring about the women fawning over him, and the "mystery" or "puzzle" jokes that go along with detectives and sleuths just seems a bit retreaded without the art really doing much. Erika's was cute and situational, which I feel gave it a bit more freshness, but I'm kinda worried where Abby's creativity is going to go.Also, loving that Katie destroyed the Ping pong tournament. Gladiator indeed.
But yeah, I'm glad that while SOME aspects of the reality TV show are there, they aren't being played up. They could have EASILY made Amy out to be a bitch at the beginning for "trying to get rid of Katie" (especially after Katie was shown to be so goddamn sweet) or game the system in general, but her genuine feelings were brought in and just, wow.
In other news of being late to things, finally sat down and read Paranatural which has been on my list for fucking ever and that I've had people hound me to get on for awhile.
Why the fuck did I not read this sooner?
