Oh yeah demoman can be a pretty heavy sentry counter but really medics and spies are what should totally focus on getting rid of nests, a uber'd heavy/oldier or a decent spy can take down a sentry way easier than a demo.

actually solly and demo do take out sentry nests very well if they are propperly equipped, also depending on the map.

direct hit and loch/load will each 2 shot a sentry. the demo doesnt suffer as much from switching off pipe but unless you are a "pro" at direct hit would i go down that road tho

yeah but they can also really easily be killed by the sentry if they're at range to take it out
and most engineers are gonna hopefully be smart and do set-ups so they can't be explosive spammed

spies and uber-medics can easily avoid or prevent any sentry damage at all and it's a much safer way to kill a sentry with the right skill

The main thing is that Soldier needs a straight-line and the Demo can bounce/lob things over barriers and down hallways.

In general yes when you take enough damage you die.
and yes, sniper is one of the classes than can take down a heavy and is a counter to him, because guess what, every class has classes designed to kill them.
However a heavy is also incredibly massive because he has stupid high HP and most people will die trying to fight him head on if he's got the minigun spinning and ready, so no, not everyone can kill them as easily as a sentry or sniper could.

and scouts are fast, which, ha, helps them avoid rockets and bombs

they can't really avoid a sentry

Pyro is really only totally countered by snipers and engineers also, as it's mostly acting as a very good mid-range character, and sniper and engineer are the two classes very good at stopping mid-range characters.

okay look I have a serious problem with this statement because it's technically true, in the same sense that saying that time travel is possible because everyone is doing it all the time at one second per second.

yes, it's a correct thing to say, but it's also incredibly useless to point out.

Every class beats every class if you're paying enough attention. If someone had perfect reflexes and was aware of everything at all times it doesn't matter what class they are they are going to win.

Pomson is OP and everyone knows it, but an uber is gonna destroy the sentry, and thus the engineer, too quickly for it to even matter. At point blank range, a heavy can just barely out DPS a sentry. One second of ubercharge is enough to make it count and matter, and the medic should NOT be close enough to get hit with the pomson otherwise.

Rescue Ranger is easily beaten because to be useful the Engineer has to be far away, and that means outside protection from their sentry, with a really shitty primary. Kill the engie, anyone can kill the sentry.

who even uses the southern hospitality

i mean if an engie is rushing you with that like

you have a gun

you can fire the direct hit and loch/load from pretty far ways away

an uber will attract the attention of the enemy team 7/10 times (you do get moments when ppl just derp) but a lone demo using the sticky jumper or a direct hit solly all the way across the map is harder to detect

hell if we wanna go specifics even a righteous bison solly will screw with an engineer. a pybro cant reflect it and if you crit its going to murder the engineer immedately

What everyone forgets about the Pompson is that it doesn't drain charge when the medic is already ubered.
It drains uber when it damages, which the happily ubered couple is immune to.

Also I don't see very many Popsons when I play anyways.
