Holy crud Renegade Shepard is a complete jerk.

I mean some of the things he says are justified (like "Screw you, Council" after being kicked aside by them), but most of it is just, "Now I shall respond to your legitimate question with sudden wrath!"

I almost can't even stomach it. Maybe I am too used to being a saint in video games to be cut out for this.

Also: Male Shepard has... very mediocre voice acting. He's either angry when yelling at people, or talks like he's reading out of a textbook. Maybe I'm just used to FemShep, but he just seems less varied emotionally.

Male Shep get's a lot better in 3.
Renegade get's a lot more fun in 2.

I've always considered them both pretty equal in terms of voice acting, though Meer gets a lot better in 2.

They tend to put different emphasis on actions. Meer is more calm, even when renegade, and he's very good at giving a low angry growl, while Hale is more emotional overall and does a really good renegade bitch voice.

I think Hale has the better range. Meer just kinda sounds the same no matter what.

A possible character death isn't a spoiler?

He very clearly responds after shepard yells out like a madman. within the context of the video, there is nothing being spoiled.

it's still endgame of the last game in a trilogy, and a conclusion of several choices.

I had ME 1 and 2 on my 360 ages ago, but never got around to 3 and then eventually sold my 360. So this past December I picked up the trilogy collection for my PS3 so I could play through the whole thing start to finish and just recently finished 3 for the first time. It was a pretty decent game and I had a lot of fun with it. Not as good as 1 in my opinion, but I liked it more than 2. The multiplayer was pretty ok too, and I liked how it tied into the main story. Made the war feel bigger or something I guess. I didn't like checking the war assets and seeing you only needed like 33% minimum to win the war or whatever that was supposed to mean. I mean, they build it all up as a desperate struggle against a vastly superior force, but then you just gotta get 1/3 of the resources to win. Felt kinda silly, especially since I was like maxed out by the end anyway.

As for endings and other spoilers, I picked the option to become machine god and control the reapers, but is it safe to assume you "die" (or actually die) in the other two endings as well? I mean, I'll probably do the other two endings eventually, but not until making new characters and working them through the first two games. Also, I somehow managed to go into 3 and play the whole thing blind with no spoilers even after all this time, so I'm not sure what characters can die if you don't do certain things or what characters are supposed to die. Like, I shot Udina during the Cerberus citadel invasion, but I didn't realize that even if you don't shoot him, Ashley/Kaiden will take him out instead.

You do live in the destroy ending, if your numbers are high enough.

Neat, I might actually have to try that now just to see if I did good enough. Though I'll kinda feel like a dick since it sounded like the destroy end wipes out all synthetics and not just the Reapers. During the Geth/Quarian missions I pretty much sided with the Geth the whole time and then ended it by making them coexist and giving the Geth true intelligence.

There's implication that everyone can rebuild from the destroy ending, and all AI are merely shut down, not completely annihilated, so the Quarians could easily repair the Geth. EDI could also relatively simply be repaired.

The difference being, mainly, that keeping the reapers alive (which happens in every other ending) helps everyone just a bit more because they stop attacking and start talking and helping.

edit: oh my god holy fuck did i actually forget to spoiler that oh geez
