If Im not at the gym, I usually just work out at home with a smaller dumbbell, and walk around a lot. I prefer the gym though, its easier to get a satisfying workout there. I prefer high weight pressure workouts.

Did 40 minutes of upper body weights today, shoulders, biceps and chest. Ive managed to reach 24 kg on each arm for bicep curls.

I don't think I've given the most important tip here yet, work out on music. It helps so much to get motivated.

Question: what are good ways to intensify sit-ups/crunches? I feel like I can just keep doing them without really feeling it in my abs, they just make me tired after a while.

The most intense ones I've seen are people doing them while hanging upside down. Or then there are those inclined board things.

Maybe try planking? The proper one, not that stupid thing where people lie on their face in public.

Yeah I should have clarified I don't have any equipment to train on, though maybe I could improvise an inclination. Guess I'll try planking, thanks for the help. I usually prefer dynamic exercises to static ones though.

If you don't do them properly you'll probably hurt something, like strain your neck maybe.

But I haven't heard of them being bad for the spine. The two things I've heard are bad for the back and spine is sitting/not moving for too long and having bad posture.

I'm down to 175. The damage a stressful semester can do, eh.

Aw man, I should've started lurking in the general board sooner. Would've been posting here more frequently.

LET IT BE KNOWN THAT ARA SHALL POST. Probably. And I may post some tasty not-awful-for-you recipes that I make from time to time if that's okay.

So, just did abs. Least favorite workout.

Anyone have tips on strengthening ankle muscles? Mine have been getting kinda bad because of the way I sleep, and I want to invest some time into making them stronger so I can up my endurance a bit and be able to exercise better.

Walking up hills does it. Goes straight to the ankles and calves.

In related news I started exercising two days ago. I hurt.

My campus is nothing but hills.

I still have weak ankles.

Body, what the hell are you doing?

Well, if you had one of those half balls where it's hard to keep your balance on, doing squats on those works your ankles pretty well.
