So, basically, gentleman and lady mean the same thing and gentlemen that actually follow gentlemanly standards and ladies that follow ladylike standards (in other words, ones that don't make the claim to act superior or get laid) follow very similar standards, it's just that gentleman refers to a man that follows these standards and lady refers to a woman that follows these standards. There are a few minor differences (obviously, gentlemen and ladies dress differently) and, if you're talking about gentleman and lady as titles, that's a whole different issue, but if you're just talking about someone that follows the standards of ladylike or gentlemanly behavior, it really doesn't matter all that much.
