you are reading way too much into this

the common term is "adventure game"
the way the story reads is reminiscent of adventure games purposefully

chances are, it's going to be an adventure game

I doubt Hussie will go into creating a legit game abuot his video game parody and then not proceed to use a little bit of every genre at least in just a single segment, like he has pretty much been doing.

Personally, while any Homestuck game would be great, a fully animated Point and click adveture would be the greatest thing.
