You can PM me your deck lists for approval if you want. I'm mainly just going to look over them and see that you have your totals right, so it's not too big of a deal.

Since there's 7 players, I will be taking the role of the 8th so that no one has to sit out on a round (because that sucks). How well or how poorly I do won't affect other players though, so even if I come out on top, other people will be getting the spoils. I'll figure out what I need to do to make this happen.

Also, make sure you're comfortable with using PlayTCG. Fool around with it a bit by yourself. There should be a toolbar across the top with most of the deck commands you'll need, but everything will be manual.

At the bottom of the screen are your tokens, including programmable damage counters and randomizer dice (evens are heads, odds are tails). There's also a token for each status effect as there's no way to rotate the cards.

If cards aren't appearing for you, try clearing your cache, otherwise, work around it as best as you can.

Finally, we need to discuss how we want to conduct matches. We can either do single match games (which should take a half hour max with this structure), or best out of 3 (which will take about an hour). We can either decide this now as a group, or you and your opponent can decide on it before a match starts (meaning, before any cards are drawn). There's nothing barring you from having friendly matches though.

I prefer that too, especially with how iffy these decks are by nature. They're not really consistent compared to fully built decks.

Pre-releases and Drafts are marked by either having very short games (about 1-3 turns) because someone benches out quickly, to long drawn out matches when neither side can draw what they need. Even the moderate matches usually last only until one player gets set up, and unless the opponent can catch up, the match is over.

So these matches can be over in seconds too, either you or your opponent could be in a bad spot real quick. That's why best of 3 suits this better because even if you both have one bad game, there's a chance that you'll get a good one for your third.

PlayTCG is acting weird for me, I have to play full screen to see everything, and i can't zoom in on cards. I tried it in Firefox and it wouldn't load at all.

do... do I have to try it in IE?

You shouldn't have to full screen it. Ctrl - should zoom it out for you.

But I'm not sure what the deal is with the dodgy "view card" pull up thing. It's been like that for the past couple of weeks.

Worst case scenario, keep a tab open with a quick resource of all of the cards in the set (either Bulbapedia or Pokebeach) and look at them that way.

I've been playing against some of the most ridiculous decks on TCGO lately. In my last match this dude whips out two Mewtwo EX's and a Keldeo EX, throws out a Deluge Blastoise, and proceeds to sweep me by the 6th turn. How the hell am I, who bodaciously started playing this thing a week ago, supposed to have the cards to counter something like that?

So when are we planning to do this thing, again?

I'm ready as I'll ever be, in case I didn't say so.

I edited my deck for 40 cards, and it put it in the unfinished section, is this a problem?

You won't be using TCGO for the actual tournament. We'll be using PlayTCG instead.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, Dan had to drop from the tournament. This gives us 6 players, so I won't be competing to fill a void.

Now that I've heard back from everyone, pairings are up:

Round 1:

Match 1:
Blitz Walrus Vs. Saint Crazy

Match 2:
TerraChimera Vs. Tammerath

Match 3:
Alec Vs. Need Runes4

Winner reports the win to me (and I'm hoping for no conflicting reports), and you have a maximum of a week to complete the round. If everyone is done before that (we most likely will), we'll start the next round.

Matches will be best of 3 games. If you win the first two, you automatically win and there's no need to do a third match besides for fun.

So turns can be done whenever we can log in, right? As in, we don't have to go all in one sitting and have to set up a time with each other?

You'll need to get with your opponent and set up a time. Either that, or you'll need to be able to ensure your computer doesn't lose connection with the internet because it'll probably lock you from the game on PlayTCG, and hope your opponent is okay with doing the same.

Though, this would probably annoy the people who run PlayTCG, so... don't do that.

1. go to Bebe's Search and click "Decklists".

2. It'll ask you to log in, so make a log in.

3. Create a new deck, then click the eyeglass to "view it". The deck will be empty.

4. Put the cards into the deck and save it.

5. Get with your opponent on when you want to play, and then go to PlayTCG. If you're the person making the match, do the following.

6. Click Play, login with the same login from Bebe's Search, and and continue to game.

7. Create new battle, pick your deck in the list by hitting "create" next to it. Make it private, and send your opponent the link you get.

8. If your opponent makes the game, they will send you the link, just click it, log in, and pick your deck. The game will start after that.
