Dark magic is hard to deal with, but that video shows it early in its introduction so people didn't truly know how to deal with it.
Best way to deal with dark magic is to have stamina regen+fast roll/ninja flip and to flip around until they have finished spamming all their spells (lag could always happen and kill with phantom hits though)

Sif finally down. He still hit like a truck but at least I dealt much more damage than before.

I had a really easy time with Sif.

Partially because of the mage guy I summoned, partially because I did like 700 damage to him every hit.

You and me both.

You know, I fucked up with Sif because I came into the fight with a low-poise shield and had to re-equip during the fight, and even then I still managed to to beat him. I think he's probably one of the easier fights in the game, all-around.

I had lots of problems with him when I was lower level to the point where I just gave up and moved on. Took me two tries the second time around.

Not sure if I should go to the Tomb of the Giants or Lost Izalith next.

On one hand the TotG would be easier with some gear from LI

but LI is where a lot of characters i like have their stories climax

Go to Lost Izalith and get the sunlight maggot it'll make the ToTG a lot easier your first time

i already have the lantern though

the maggot takes up a headpiece, so no big loss

lantern takes up your shield...huge loss. it can make a difference

Or get the miracle that makes a big dumb light on your head appear.

Man, the Archives are pretty annoying.
Also, the PC port is more crappily optimized than I thought. I had left my GPU running at half clocks and didn't realize it until I remembered that I hadn't switched profiles - my framerates were the same as when overclocking. That's one huge CPU bottleneck right there.
