They wouldn't follow me though, so just killed them and stored them for later.

Yeah, but apparently you can get them to follow you around like a small pikmin army at night.
From what I understand it really isn't worth it though

from what i understand, mandrakes tend to spawn close to one another. find one and most likely you will find the others

That's what I heard.
I don't like finding them because I never want to use them. They just sit there in my inventory, just in case something comes along where I do need them and then I die.

well you can leave anything you want on the ground and it wont go away. the pigs shouldnt eat the mandrakes to my knowledge

Day 27 in the wilderness.

Snow covered the island a few days ago. Struggling to find food. Been tricking rabbits into early deaths with a stale carrot. The beefalos killed Chester yesterday. At least I still have my beard.

I was able to survive through the night by running to the pig village. When it hit day time the wolves (there were six of them) all started fighting the pigs. I got a few teeth out of the deal.

Finally made it through winter. Whoo. Day 47.

Man I would trade someone a copy of War of the Roses for this game.
