Im just waiting until one of you explodes out of obvious stupidity overdose.

Then Im eating dinner >;3

I will totally wait to get this game, once the rush is over. Seriously, canNOT afford the cutthroat prices gamestop puts on their games anymore. Greedy bastards.

You'll explode first, as I was just trolling. ;)

Also, Gamestop isn't a greedy bastard, as they just sell games at the regular price.

Funnily enough, I got this game for $10 today at Gamestop.

Apparently mom's been using my reward's account and has been buying a lot of kiddy games for my neice and other little kids in the family, and gamestop gave me a voucher when I was in there today because I resisted pre-ordering or something? I guess it's to butter me up so I'll start buying games 6+ months in advance or whatever, and to make sure I buy physical instead of digital. Pahahaha. Yeah.

Either way, I ended up with $30 off a game, so I picked up Luigi's Mansion. Was going to get Pokemon, but they didn't look like they had them (generally, Gamestops around here like to hold out on spin-off Pokemon games until monday), and I'm probably going to ask for it for Easter anyways, possibly as a download.

50 dollars for a game is not a price I am willing to pay, even as a fan of Nintendo for over 20 years. I know its Luigi, but honestly. Dont care about inflation but someones cutting too much cream off the top if the price is over 30. At any time. I call greed.

idk I just saw LM in gamestop for 40 bucks so

Not that much better but it's not like they're just gonna give it to you for nothing and not make a profit. Don't blame Gamestop blame capitalism.

Small difference between making a profit and inflating the price.

Are 3DS games usually $40 or is that uncommon?

I am finding it really hard to believe you found is somewhere for over $40. Somewhere reasonable, like Gamestop or Amazon or something. I mean if you're looking in places like SHADY DAVE'S OVERPRICED GAME MART or something then yeah but 3DS games would have to be daisies near godly to be worth more than $40.

$40 already seems like a bit much to me for a handheld game but I guess that's what's considered normal now.

I might be inclined to agree but handhelds have advanced so far past what they used to be, which was just things with little games to pass time, and into full fledged consoles with fairly large games on them. The price increase makes sense.

Minecraft: 25
Starbound: 10-15
Portal 2: 25

If Nintendo cant compete with prices like those, no wonder theyre having such issues. It cant be the materials. The game itself is a tiny masterpiece of engineering by now. I call overinflation on Nintendos part, because, as with many large companies, they tend to inflate prices unreasonably not because they want more cash, but because they want to pay the hundreds of people who worked on it.

And even though it probably justifies along with inflation and tariffs the ridiculous prices put on it; Im not willing to oblige them by buying a product that costs that much. Ive got a memory: Im getting plenty of good fun out of Twilight Princess and the other games Ive stocked up over the years.

Portal 2 was $60 when it released. Minecraft was something like $15 when it was in alpha.

I'm not sure what your point was in using two games that are several years old.

yes of course

it's not like they're sitting on 10 billion dollars or anything

Anyway, more to the point, handheld nintendo games were 35 dollars for as long as I could remember (GBC, GBA, DS) and only went up by 5 dollars for the 3DS.
It's really not that extreme of a change.
