Apparently we don't have a thread yet.

Tried hard for the first time with /v/, wasn't that difficult when everybody does their job instead of just trying to get as much kills as possible. I was the sharpshooter, didn't feel that useful since I had pretty bad ping and my aim was suffering, but still managed to pick off some dangerous stuff with the crossbow. MK23 is my baby too.

The Mk23 is amazing, I must agree. Also, the FN-Fal is wonderful. If you have steady aim you can tear apart anything up close or at range as long as you can keep a good bead on the creeps noggins.

Magnum has too few shots for my tastes.

I usually use the SCAR instead since it does pretty much the same thing and is cheaper than the FNFAL, but if you ever manage to get both of them it's pretty much non-stop destruction. Otherwise I use AK47+SCAR for commando.

As compared to what, the starting pistol? If you're going to be a pistol-sharpshooter, Dual Magnums are cheap, reliable, have a lot of ammo, and pack a lot of punch. Dual Handcannons would be a better choice for power but they cost significantly more and have significantly less ammo.

also i'm a motherfucking steampunk DJ with two six-shooters

things are getting fucked

It's a matter of preference of course.

So word to the wise, Clot Buster doesn't work as advertised. Thought I'd get some easy levels on berserker before getting into a real game, but no such luck. At least I learned to kite Fleshpounds with a katana.

Mutations don't allow you to level up your classes. Kind of says it when you pick a mutation :P. Or at least it did.

If you picked up a good technique for avoiding flesh pounds up close? It really wasn't a waste of time now, was it?

I mainly play as Field Medic, but I like sharpshooter and berserker too. I've not played the game in a while though.

True enough, that's why I said "almost". Coincidentally, I found this video

I feel as though I'm the only guy here who likes using the grenade launchers, since I'm a demolitions, I get them for a bit of a cheap price, so its kinda worth it since it deals high damage to big baddies like Scrakes.

The grenade launchers are good, but not against Scrakes. They are way too resistant to it and it takes too many shots, and the smoke of your grenades is obscuring the vision of your sharpshooter who can take them out in only a couple of shots. Use them to clear out clusters of weaker zeds, shoot back sirens and nuke fleshpounds. For Flespounds, try to aim at the torso, it does a ton more damage. 6-7 grenades are a guaranteed kill no matter the difficulty (use the M79+M32).

My favourite Berserker loadout has to be katana+xbow so far. Can deal with anything but fleshpounds easily with this set on difficulties til hard.
