I don't remember dave being destined to die ever being mentioned. Also, in retrospect, I'd imagine yaldaboath wouldn't accept anything less than the alpha dave

I meant a failed timeline Dave would be destined to die, and true enough. I wouldn't want some shitty Beta Dave to kill himself if I was powerful enough to make someone god.

Also, I just really like Caliborn's songs on this album.
Holy shit they are good.

That makes me think that because this is a session that does not have regular planets, or skaia, and a bunch of other regular game elements we've seen up to this point. There is no godtiers as we know them. the deal with yaldaboath is the only way to achieve godhood in a game no one was meant to survive, for a player that wasn't meant to play.

What if Caliborn isn't actually English?

I mean, yes, he is English. But what if English is just a manifestation of himself? He can project himself though Lil' Cal. What if he's not the one with all the power? What if the combination of Lil' Cal and a cue ball of unknown amounts of power is actually what allows Caliborn to do these things?

Caliborn can be stopped still, because he's still sitting somewhere, stuck in his quest from his own ignorance and stubborness, using English to go fucking nuts and stop anyone trying to get to him?

I still don't like the idea of the main villain that's been built up from act 3? or so being a colossal bait and switch.
While it's still entirely possible I just don't think we would go through this much backstory
this much build up
bodaciously more than 3 years of build up, and going
for the super big bad to actually just be some surly, green midget from another dimension with an attitude problem and an inclined learning curve, pulling a wizard of oz

also the pillars to the sides of the door are the same pillars as the clock, which also has 2 cherub-esque serpent heads to the sides of the clockface
