That's why I added the tidbit about it being under his roof or not. If it's being done in his house, then it's a cause for concern. If not, then I'm not sure what situationwould come about where his Dad would have a problem.

And what would telling him do exactly? One thing to consider is not telling him might beg the question of why you'd need to hide it from him.

That's just it. I don't know if he'd think that it's cool that I've taken that up as an intermittent hobby, or if he'd be upset that I'm essentially living up to the family line and brewing booze in the kitchen. (My great-great-aunt turned her husband in to the revenuers for the reward cheddar, because she was tired of him drinking the product instead of selling it, for God's sake.)

There's a risk of there being some level of fear on his end, that if I've got easy access and ownership over alcohol, particularly if I'm going and making it before being 21, that I'll fall into the same addiction that he did. And when my dad gets worried or scared, he doesn't know what to do with it and gets angry instead. That, and there could be some disappointment what with the whole "drinking before you're legally allowed" thing.

Also no, people will drink in their homes regardless of age, depending on the parents. You just can't buy alcohol from anywhere, and you have to avoid being publicly intoxicated.

But hey that's cool. Also publicly intoxicated? I heard that was illegal but here it's just "Oh you're drunk and walking around town, go home or to to the station."

yeah you can get arrested for being drunk on the street, regardless of age. but you'll REALLY get arrested if you're underage and drunk on the street. "underage" drinking is srs bsns here

but really if you live with legal roomates or with cool parents you can drink whenever you want

Everything hinges on how incogneetus you can be. If you're not the type of person to freak out that you're drinking/drunk while drunk, then you'll be fine.
