That and I cringe at all of the 90's anime cliches.

I had to look it up and was shocked to see it's a 2004 anime.

Granted, it's a spin-off show and I'm sure the original pulled a lot of that crap way back when it was the norm.

Overall, it's not bad, but it's pretty bland and forgettable.

Also, when is Eureka 7 going to pick up? I'm getting pretty sick of this "Eureka is being distant and Renton is weepy about it" shit. I thought things were mostly resolved in that dream thing 2 weeks ago, but here we go again.

Renton's been quite on-the-ball in plenty of episodes as of recent. This last episode, he manned up and took out some sky fish so that they could make reflector film for the Gekkostate.

I'm enjoying that aspect of it, but this drawn out tension between him and Eureka is getting to annoying levels at this point.

Especially when the dream episode made it seem like SOME progress was being made. But last week Eureka's still moping about and everything is greyscale around her.

Oh yeah, the romance. I actually tried to phase that out of my brain because there's so little progress.

That's not what's frustrating.

What's frustrating is that Eureka is primarily a love story anime with action tacked on (as opposed to a straight shonen with romance tacked on). If you hate romance, you're going to be disappointed because that's the focus.

The relationship between Eureka and Renton is the whole major point and conflict of the series. And as of right now, it's been stagnant ever since they first met Anemone, and the only plot progression has been Renton picking up the slack left by Eureka being an enigmatic mope about how she thinks the Niervash likes Renton more than her and her jealousy at him.

It's the same kind of frustrating as DBZ had. Layers of bullshit with the main plot progressing slower than a snail's dick.

This week, Eureka becomes Princess Bubblegum.

And after a few more weeks and spring arrives, she'll emerge from her bubblegum cocoon as a beautiful butterfly.

This episode of Eureka 7 was stupid. Why did nobody tell Renton that they were going to go get the priest for the sake of saving Eureka? That would have saved everyone involved from a lot of unnecessary drama. Do they all still hate Renton that much?

Loaded up netflix last night and watched some anime. Air Gear and Darker Than Black would be good shows to air on it.

They're showing the episode of Bleach that has the end of the Turn Back the Pendulum arc and the music that they were playing was a jazz-something fusion and it was amazing. Bleach may be super-generic shonen, but at least they know how to pick out some nice tunes.

Toonami has confirmed via Tumblr that Soul Eater will take the place of Samurai 7. I am excite.

Samurai 7 ends tonight, Soul Eater kicks into gear next week.

Kiku dying was kinda bullshit.

Would have much rather seen blondie gone. I didn't feel he did as much as the others.

Also, while they covered Hachi last week, it seemed odd that all they did for him this episode was showing his grave alongside the other 3, I figured they'd at least show them recovering his body or something.

All in all, it was good, but felt a bit rushed right at the end.
