AWKWARD ZOMBIE

Dear Diary,
So my sister, Elsa, is finally going out tonight on some business in town for the first time in forever,
and I am super excited because Kristoff's coming over and I'm thinking we might be making that next step.
And he might be bringing over his blanket hornpipe, if you know what I mean. Wish me luck!

Knock knock knock.

Having been already standing inches away from the door of her room for the past hour, Anna opened it up to see her boyfriend, Kristoff standing there. "Hey there, feistypants!" he laughed.

"Hi!" Anna said, before standing on her tip-toes to facebattle him on the cheek. They embraced for a good minute, both a little uncomfortable, thinking the hug's gone on a little too long, but at the same time too comfy to stop. They heard footsteps down the hall.

"Okay, Anna, I'm heading out, so- Oh, my!"

Kristoff and Anna looked at Elsa, who had an amused smirk and a quirked brow. The two broke their embrace, both of them looking at the floor all embarrassed and laughing anxiously.

"Well, you two have fun now," said Elsa as she walked away. "But not too much fun! One princess is already a handful!"

"Elsaaaaaa!" Anna moaned, blushing. She noticed that Elsa was sticking her tongue out and winking at her. Why, the nerve!

Kristoff blurted out, "I, I brought my lute along!" He held it up for Anna to see.

"Oh!? Ooh, ooh! Play me something!" Anna said, bouncing up and down a little in excitement.

"Okay... what song do you wanna hear?" said Kristoff as he went and sat over on the bed, tuning the lute a little.

"Ummm... Oh! That one about reindeers!"

"C'mon, that's a duet."

Anna plopped down on the bed right next to Kristoff. "I know!"

Kristoff glanced at his girlfriend, and saw the warmest smile on her face along with those wonderful eyes and okay sure he can do a duet with this person. "Alright, then, I hope you know the words...
"Reindeers are better than people. Babe, don't you think that's true?"

After taking some time to remember the words, Anna took to her part with an aggressive enthusiasm.
"Yeah, people will beat you and curse you and cheat you! Every one of them's bad except you~"

Kristoff laughed at her singing's bluster, impressed at how well she remembered the song.
"Oh, thanks princess. But people smell better than reindeers. Babe, don't you think I'm right?"

"That's once again true, for all except you~" sang Anna as she leaned in to sniff her boyfriend a little.

"You got me. Let's call it a nigh- oh wait, I forgot this song doesn't really..." muttered Kristoff as he sheepishly scratched his head. He quickly noticed that Anna was still sniffing him. "That bad, huh?"

"Um, you smell, but... it's not bad," Anna said as she pulled away and faced the other direction.

"Really?" asked Kristoff as he leaned over to see his girlfriend's face.

"It's just unique is all. In fact, uh..." she turned to where she was facing Kristoff again.

...

"Ikindalikeit."

Kristoff noted that Anna's face was usually a "peach" color, but was now more of a "beet." Every time her eyes would meet his, they would dart away. When she began chewing the edge of her thumbnail, words escaped him. Like this one: "Cute."

Anna let out a small gasp, and noticed that Kristoff was quickly approaching her shade of red. She grinned at him. Kristoff was practically blinded by the radiance of her smile, so he closed his eyes and leaned in. She closed hers as well, and, well, you know.

"Holy shit, Anna, what happened!?" Elsa asked as her younger sister frantically tried to rub the blood on her hands on the sheets she used to wrap up her boyfriend's body.

"Do you think he's dead?" she whimpered.

"What did you do, Anna, what did you do!?"

"Look, I don't know! We were just singing, like "I love reindeer, I smell bad," I dunno, some shit, and then he's dead"

Elsa started hyperventilating. "Look this is bad, Anna, this is really bad! I'm already on thin ice with the kingdom as it is, but with this..."

"What are we gonna do?" asked Anna desperately.

Elsa finally calmed herself down enough to say, "We have to dispose of the body."

"Why'd your boyfriend have to be so- umph! heavy?" Elsa forced out as she helped throw Kristoff's body onto the back of his sled.

"So he's a bit of a fixer upper..." Anna laughed tiredly. Elsa smacked her.

Sven, Kristoff's loyal reindeer companion, sniffed at the huge bundle the two sisters had just brought onto the sled. However, Anna gave him some carrots, securing his loyalty to her cause for a lifetime. "That's a good Sven," cooed Anna.

As Sven pulled the two sisters through the country to one of Kristoff's ice harvesting stops, a loud banging and moaning started coming from the back of the sled.

"What was that?" asked Anna, on the verge of panicking.

With a heavy heart, Elsa shot a bolt of frost down at Kristoff's struggling body. Not being enough to freeze him solid in a reasonable amount of time, she forced herself to do it two times more. Once the third bolt of frost had touched his heart, Kristoff had died, betrayed, and frozen solid.

"Oh, sis..." sobbed Anna as she hugged her sister's side. Elsa jerked back a little, but squeezed her sister's hand tight for whatever comfort it could provide.

Anna lifted the saw above the ice, and muttered, "Okay, so I just poke this thing into the ground and then pull up. Doesn't seem so hard. Hiding Kristoff's body will be easy this way. and if someone finds his body, it'll just look like he fell into the water. And then froze solid. Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with this plan." When Anna tried and failed to stab the saw through the ice, Elsa came over and used her powers to split the ice apart. "Hehe, thanks!"

Elsa rolled her eyes at her sister, and then went over to drag the frozen Kristoff out of the sled. Anna picked up the other side of the statue, and the two sisters hefted it over to the watery depths.

"Heave!" commanded Elsa as they threw that statue in with a big "splash!"

As Elsa froze the pond over again, hiding Kristoff's body from the world, Anna stared at the blood that was still on her hands.

"Elsa, I- I'm so sorry..." she whimpered.

"It's okay Anna, we just can't talk about this with anyone," said Elsa dismissively.

"But I already talked about it with someone!"

"For the sake of Christ, Anna, who did you tell!?" Elsa was worried that her sister just might be the end of them both.

"Sven," Anna replied. Elsa breathed a sigh of relief. "And you know what he said to me?"

"N... no, I don't. What did he say, Anna?" Elsa asked, humoring her sister. Whatever helped the girl cope with this situation.

"He said it sure was swell that Kristoff died, because then you could be my new boyfriend."

Elsa turned to look at her sister, still not sure she heard correctly. What she saw in that face was nothing like the Anna she knew. Anna was looking at her with cloudy eyes, and had a blank expression. Then, she grinned.

"HEY, ELSA, WILLYOUBEMYBOYFRIEND!?"

Elsa started backing away slowly. "Oh my god..."

"C'mon, Elsa we can be even closer than we are now! Don't you want that?"

"Anna, I do love you, but... not in that way!"

"You're rejecting me? Even after I saved your life that one time..."

"Enough, Anna!" Elsa was backing away from all this even faster now.

"Elsa, where are you goin-" Bark bark! "Huh?" Anna turned towards the reindeer.

You should kill her, Anna!

"Sure thing, Sven!" said Anna eagerly as she picked up the ice-cutting saw.

Elsa started sprinting away from her sister. Or, whatever was possessing her sister. Anna gave chase.

"ELSAAA! Elsa, com'ere!" Anna yelled at her fleeing sister. "Come on, you can be twice the Kristoff that Kristoff is!"

Elsa made her way through the woods, conjuring snowdrifts to block her sister's path.

"Come on, Elsa, nobody likes a tease!" said Anna as she bounded over the snowdrifts with that saw in her hands.

"Stop this, Anna!" Elsa cried. "Please!"

Anna would not stop, and kept chasing Elsa as she called out her name.

"Hoohoo! You interested in our new selection of winter dresses?!"

"No time," snapped Elsa as she froze the trading post's door shut.

"Hey, I have a business to run!"

Elsa ran over to the Sauna, and shut herself inside. She froze that door as well.

"Hey Elsa!" said a familiar voice.

Elsa turned around to see Olaf sitting in the sauna with a towel around his waist.

"What's up?"

Elsa looked at the cheerful snowman's face, and broke down. She slid down against the wall, and started crying.

"Oh, Elsa, what's wrong?" said Olaf as he gave Elsa the warmest hug he could.

"It's Anna, Olaf, she's a deranged murderer!"

Olaf looked confused. "Anna? Who's Anna?"

"Anna! My sister, Anna, princess of Arendalle!" Elsa explained with exasperation at the snowman's forgetfulness.

"Anna's been dead for 13 years," the snowman said, still confused.

"What?" Elsa asked. Suddenly, she heard a knock. Not just any knock, though.

Knock knock kno-knock knock!

She had somehow gotten past the first door. Was it the saw?

"Do you want to build a snowman?"

"Oh Anna..." Elsa sighed. "Please, not this song."

The singing continued.

Olaf stared at his creator, and then at the door.

The amount of tears Elsa was shedding increased in both number and frequency as the song went on.

"Um, Elsa?" the snowman asked. "What am I looking at here? Why are you pretending like someone's at the door singing?"

"Oh, Olaf, what are you talking about?" Elsa sobbed.

"There's no one at the door."

Elsa couldn't process what he was saying. Well, she could, but it made no sense. Did she make him slow when she created him?

"What are you talking about, of course there is!"

"Um, okay, then can you open the door and show me who it is?"

"I..." Elsa said hesitantly. Had Anna calmed down enough for that? Could she let her in? Elsa's thoughts on the matter came to a stop when the next verse started.

"I'm right out here for you, just let me in. We only have each other, it's just you and me. What are we gonna do?"

Elsa couldn't possibly refuse her sister now like she did all those years ago.

She opened the door.


"Do you want to build a snowman?"

"What do you mean you can't save Anna? Heal her at once!"

"Even if I did, her brain is too damaged for her to live normally. She'd be a vegetable."

Like... a carrot?

"Elsa, we've asked you a thousand times to stop bothering the servants."

But I just wanted to know what Anna's been doing lately...

"She's not here anymore!"

Then why is she still knocking at my door everyday?

"Now honey, it was an accident, she didn't mean to do it."

"I know, I know, I just... I still can't forgive her for what she did to our little girl..."

Mama? Papa?

Lost at sea? Oh no, how's Anna going to deal with this?

"It's such a tragedy, to think that one could lose all their family so soon..."

"Shush, not in front of the princess!"

So this is what a party looks like. What a dreamy prince. I should dance with him. But I don't dance. You should dance with him. He can take you away from here. But no, you can't marry him just yet. That's not how love works. Anna, no. Don't do this. My glove is off! Oh no, oh no! Don't look at me like that. Please just leave me alone. How could you do this to me, Anna?

The whole country's frozen because of me. I am the worst queen. I have to send Anna away now, along with that mountain man-looking fellow that just came in. Did she bring him along, or did he come first? Yeah, she did bring him along, because only she would come out here for me. We're sisters, after all.

Why is this prince going to murder me? It's not my fault there's an eternal winter, it's these daisies powers! I can't control them! Please don't kill me! I can run ever farther away! Just... take care of Anna!

"Anna, your sister? What does she have to do with any of this?"

"Your sister is dead! She died thirteen years ago! Because of you!"

What? You mean, when she came up to the North Mountain, I... No...

"Look, I'm sorry it's come to this, but I must stop the eternal winter."

This is it. He's going to cut my head off. Oh, dear, not like this... But what's the point in struggling. After all, life without Anna...

I'm not dead. What was that sound? Oh no, Anna! Now she's just an ice statue. To think that she would sacrifice herself for me... What an Anna thing to do. She would protect me. She's the only one who would. Stupid Anna! Why'd you have to leave me like this...

Thanks to Anna, I've discovered a way to control my powers. Now everything will be alright. Now it's time to punish that stupid prince who... what was it again, Anna? Oh yeah, he betrayed you and tried to murder me so he could steal our throne! That's all he really wanted. Hey, diplomat guy! See that this prince gets a fitting punishment for trying to murder me and my sister!

That mountain man is pretty cute, Anna. And he did help you on your quest to save Summer. Sure you can date him. No engagements until at least a few years, though, you understand?

"Goodbye, Olaf."

As she undid his perpetual flurry, the snowman groaned out, "Oh, no..."

The snowman quickly melted into a puddle, which evaporated into steam.
