AWKWARD ZOMBIE

Pretty self-explanatory, really: Just a thread for talking about bad media, "media" here being kinda a broad term. Basically, you can post about anything from a movie to a book to a web comic. Hell, you could even post about an advertisement as long as it is bad enough. As long it isn't a video game (because there's a forum for that) and you think it isn't good.

My main purpose here is just laughing at how bad some things can be, but feel free to critically analyze how and why something is terrible. You could post about things that are "so bad there good" or things that are just plain terrible. You can also defend something you see here if you think it isn't as bad as portrayed, but don't get inflammatory about it.

A Few Thread Notes and Advisories:
-Just because this thread exists doesn't mean you can't make you're own thread about a media you think is bad: if you think it's exceptionally bad, then go for it.
-I said don't post about video games, but (as you will see in a minute) I feel like game-related medias, specifically the "Gamer Comedy Channel" is fine for discussion, sense it isn't a video game, just related by nature.
-Try to avoid dumping on a popular series just because it is popular and you dislike it. if you really hate it, then go ahead, but you shouldn't complain about something being "overrated" if you think it isn't also "bad."
-Also avoid personal attacks on the creators of the bad media. Don't track down information about the creator and talk about how he is a bad or good person in real life. Just don't do it: it's not cool and just brings the mood down.

Now then, I'll start

GameStain is a real thing that exists and is also really bad. It's a gamer-comedy show on the "FATFINGER" YT channel (never heard of it before) and it is also not particularly funny.
Example(Note: don't watch if you don't want give these people ad revenue)

Notice how the commenter clearly has some background knowledge on the subject and yet adds nothing insightful or makes any joke that is very related to the subject matter (or funny). Also notice how there is a lot of singing but it isn't that great/funny. These two techniques make up the signature comedy style of GameStain.

This is really only the tip of the ice burg though. For example, they have an entire song about to jerk'n it to video game girls (NSFW, obviously). It has a lot of auto tune and is just as bad as it sounds.

I don't know if this is some sorta elaborate parody because it really is quite extravagantly bad and I've seen some of the things here in parodies that I thought were exaggerated. Also the filters make it feel like that SNL sketch about Crunkfest at points, except I'm afraid the whole thing is serious.

Sounds kind of like what would happen if G4 was born of Youtube instead of Television. Well, except without Ninja Warrior. Or production values. I shan't watch the video(s) as per your recommendation, and also because YT eats a lot of data and I'm already 2/3s deep into my monthly allowance.

I guess it's my turn, and I choose White Noise. This horrible, awful, deceitful film starts out nice with a really cool premise and sympathetic characters, then goes downhill... everyone knows this. However, there are a couple of things I plain don't understand, or just want to address in general.

1) The kid. This bothers me more than anything because I don't know who the fuck this kid is, nor do I know which adult(s) are his actual parent(s). For example: he calls Johnathan 'daddy' and stays with him frequently when appropriate, so you'd think that'd be a clear indication that it is his son. HOWEVER, it all becomes very ambiguous for a number of reasons. Nobody ever addresses the kid as John's son; John refers to 'his mother' frequently after Anna's death as if he has another mom or something, including that she will pick him up long after Anna died; the roll of that other lady (not Sarah) introduced after Anna's demise is never explicitly established, leaving her relationship and history to anyone very ambiguous.

Oh god I thought it'd just be a simple parody at least but this genuinely SPEWS how awful it is.

Star Trek Into Darkness has some incredibly dumb and purposeless fanservice partway though. Uhara doesn't really do anything important. And Khan should have really been cast as someone other than Benedict Cumberbatch.

I don't really see why. Anyone who knows of Star Trek knew who it was before going into the theaters. Anyone who doesn't know about Star Trek wouldn't even understand the significance of the name until they saw the movie.

Regardless, rules of not being a dick say to put spoilers in spoiler tags.

perhaps there should be a spoiler warning in the OP. It's hard to do critical analysis without spoiling some part of the plot.

Done, but you could always just mention what you're talking about in your first sentence and then Black Bar the rest, for convenience's sake.
