Well, Lucas is selling Lucasfilms to Disney and a new Star Wars trilogy has been announced. The first is set for 2015. I'm cool with this. Anybody else?

I'm cool with it if there is a scene where Jar Jar Binks dies in a horrible way. Disembowelment, fire, etc.

It's a shame the new trilogy will probably be animated and with shitty voices HAHAHA

Why would it necessarily be animated?

because that's the way Star Wars has been going since like 2006.

Also I don't have high hopes for a new trilogy at all after the prequel trilogy went the way it did.

high points in episode 1: Badass double-bladed lightsaber
low points in episode 1: about everything else, specifically annoying Anakin and everything Jar Jar
high points in episode 2: um
low points in episode 2: mostly everything, Anakin is a whiny bitch
high points in episode 3: most interesting one of the prequels
low points in episode 3: anakin still a whiny bitch

Disney did good for Marvel. Maybe it's good for Star Wars. Star Wars is the foundation of my life but this is a risk I'm willing to take.

It'll be better if you don't double post, we have an edit button.

I really liked Episode II mostly because I'm an RTS freak and massive scale battles are amazing.

But yeah, Jar-Jar is terrible forever and anikin is....

Jar-Jar was a C-3P0 replacement, he was supposed to be annoying as shit.

Personally, I think the lightsaber duel and the podrace completely overshadowed anything bad about Episode I.

So anyone else feel like Lucas went insane somewhere in the last decade or so?

Especially now that he's selling his lifetime's work to a company almost as intrusive as Fox was all those years ago?

That's the thing that's still weirding me out over this.

Though, hopefully this means soon Spike won't be able to spam the fuck out of the movies everyday to fill up airtime.

Cautiously excited. I have faith in Disney's ability to do well. Hoping for Joss Whedon.

Why not just use C-3P0

Because George Lucas wanted to make cheddar off of two new action figures rather than just one.
