I felt the 'Random Gewgaws Everywhere' design really fit with 11, I wonder what happens to make him change? It is a nice set though, feels really... spaceshippy.

Watching the first episode of Doctor Who from 1963. It's really great.

Really? Because 23 minutes of it can be summed up as "some teachers are creepy and follow home a girl because they think she's weird and then break into an old man's police box and then the old man kidnaps them"
That pretty much covers every event, this is not a simplification.

And combined with the classic TARDIS console, just LOOK at that opening!

THEY BROUGHT BACK THE FACE!

I laughed at the face.

To anyone who doesn't know, the Great Intelligence is a monster from the Second Doctor era. 11 waving the lunchbox thing with the 1960s map of the underground gave the intelligence the information it needed for its attack in the underground in 1960s, which 2 and the Brigadier stopped.ACTUALLY GOOD BIT OF WRITING

The new opening is awesome, I rather like it. It's much better than what they did with the rest of the season, with them just fucking around with the colors of the vortex to the point where it looked like it had gone through a shitty instagram filter.

Netflix has most of the old episodes, and I'm watching 'The Ark in Space', it's pretty good so far.

Ahaha, the effects with the atomizer gun are terrible, the beam looks like bad photoshop.

Watched it last night, and that was pretty awesome. Also, the TARDIS interior looks a lot better and more filled with stuff than what the screenshot earlier in the thread showed.

Looks far too clean. How many of the previous iterations of the TARDIS were as well-kempt as that? I'm legitimately asking.

What the nose said. Pretty much all of them before the new series started.

All around, this christmas special had a "going back to the roots" feel to it. The new opener with the face, the clean spacey Tardis, the 2nd doctor reference...
I wonder what they are going for.

It even seems like 11 is more organized than he used to be, which would make the cleaned-up TARDIS make even more sense. Like Seth pointed out, the random stuff everywhere suited his personality quite well. Although, I'll still miss the warm atmosphere of the old one. The warmgold-orange of the old (in regards to the current run of the show) TARDIS made me think of it as less of a ship and more of a home and a safe haven

That guy is called Matt Elliott.
He looks almost identical to Matt Smith. He knows that he does. He cosplays as him. He got his picture taken with the real deal.

I had someone yesterday try to tell me in all seriousness that The Angels Take Manhattan was an amazing episode and a great sendoff to the Ponds.
I can't stop internally laughing
