The age of advancement was already there, Aang was just there to see it.

It very much was not. The Fire Nation was clearly ahead in terms of metal work but there was no real major leaps forward until Aang and Zuko ended the war and helped to unite the nations. In fact, it's implied that their work to connect the nations better led directly into Republic City's technological advancement because no ideas could be openly exchanged and shared far more easily on a neutral ground.

It was not already there at all. The pieces were there, but it didn't start until Aang and Zuko connected them.

No they're not.
I mean it was a pretty common theory that the next season was gonna be about the spirit world, look how that ended up.

just the one you posted specifically didn't make any sense.

All theories need more evidence to be proven, thus all theories are dumb.
How does the theory not make any sense?

I don't think you know what a theory is.

also i have already gone over why it doesn't make sense

You dismissed my theory because of assumptions, but you can't really say the assumptions are wrong.

I didn't, actually. I dunno if you missed the bits where canon itself was against the theory? There were assumptions that are easily dismissed but it's mostly because the majority is clearly wrong based on the actual facts about the story. The assumptions just make it worse

really it just sounds like you picked the middle of my post and then ignored everything else

Whatever. I thought I'd show y'all something I thought was cool, but y'all called it dumb.

I wonder why everybody thinks Bloodbending is evil. It's the most nonlethal form of Bending.

are you kidding me

It's completely removing someone's ability to control their bodies. It's not a technique that's easily fought against, and it IS the most lethal form of bending, as you can bodaciously stop someone's blood or force them to kill themselves or just snap them in two without them being able to do anything about it.

How can you think it's not a lethal technique? They hammer that exact fact in so hard it's out the wall and on the ground outside.

You can also resolve conflicts nonviolently and not have to impale them with a giant icicle by making the opponent submit.

It'll be interesting how korra uses the avatar state compared to aang. I'm betting she won't be as reluctant.

I'll be interested in how she manages to control it. In AtlA Aang needed a lot of soul-searching and chakra-fiddling to figure out how the control the Avatar State, and even then hit huge roadblocks along the way (his connection to Katara, getting zapped by Azula).

I dunno if I'll be satisfied with "Oh Korra's really good at bending so she's automatically got the Avatar State down pat". That's just... too easy. Korra's kinda overpowered right now, she really needs to be knocked down a few notches for her character to really develop.

Now maybe if she does figure out how to use the Avatar State, abuses it constantly for crazy power, and that leads to some consequences... sure. Maybe Korra angers some Spirits by drawing on so much spiritual energy all the time. Or, in a boy-cries-wolf scenario, maybe the past incarnations of Avatars stop coming to her aid when she tries to enter the Avatar State after using it for petty reasons.

Bloodbending is violence. Notice how everyone affected by it moves slowly with jerky, grotesque motions and they're in pain the entire time. It's bodaciously torture.
