To be fair, there were various moments in Aang's Avatardom where he's done something that makes emotional sense, but was completely unwise. That whole bit where he had to open the last Chakra dealing with cosmic energy is an excellent example. I can imagine Korra getting some epiphany here she has to suck up some hard truth and in doing so the anti-benders are put in their place.

Hrm. Seems to me that you're basically saying, "The writing for this show is great, they make it difficult to determine who to root for," but are phrasing it in a way that it comes off as an argument or that you're trying to convince people of this as well when everyone basically agrees.

Wasn't intending that, whoops. I was just fighting when people were saying that Korra was 100% amazing and good and pure all the time forever, and that she is incapable of doing harm and those MEAN OL' ANTI-BENDERS have no redeeming features at all.

I haven't seen anyone take a full on stance against the Equalists so far. It's true that it's a worthy cause--to end oppression against non-benders and have everyone treated equally. It draws a good parallel to discrimination in the real world.

Yes, the cause itself is good. The execution though is equivalent to feminists forcing sex changes on every male.

Also, since I never saw the finale of A:tLA, I googled a summary, which led me to a clip of the episode where Zuko and Azula fight before she is defeated by Katara.

God daisies Azula was... horrible. Honestly the most depressing thing I've seen in a long time.

This show is one of the best, well time for me to join in.
I gotta say they make it hard to pick a side, and from what I have seen neither side is good. Amon is trying to force all benders to lose bending in order to become like all the rest, taking the power by birth away from the people who have it. The benders control the city in every way, it seems like all the leaders are benders, and they many of them want to be heavily aggressive against Amon, who at this point in the show has only attacked 2 known innocent people, that being Korra and whats his face firebender. The other people he went after were gang members and leaders(and the unfortunate idiot who is awesome). The innocent people attacked also snuck in and ambushed a rally against benders, attacked people in there, and caused a huge commotion.
The benders have made offensive moves against the anit-benders, attacking a group of chi blockers, which I have yet to see them say is a crime. Yes they are all for Amon, but the benders flat out attacked them with no warning, and gave them no chance.
Korra so far has only helped prove some of Amons points, and as the avatar she is also the figure that shows that the benders are above non-benders. She is held in such high regard simply because she was born with power, the power to control all elements. She is the ultimate proof to help Amon's point, because of the fact that by birth she is treated special for hew powers, and no other reason.
Then there comes pro bending, a sport based on bending in which only benders may play in, and this somewhat splits benders and non-benders a little.
Now I am not saying I am for Amon, but he has a valid point with a bad way of reaching it, though it may be the only. He also seems like the kind of character that is willing to sacrifice anything to get to his goal, who will lie, cheat, and steal to win, all so that the world turns out how he wants. I don't trust his little story he told, and I have a few theory's about him, one of which is that he himself lost his bending either to Aang years before, or to a spirit. If these are true he is just using an idea to obtain his true goal which is not yet seen, but the point he is going at now is a valid point.

The benders who attacked the chi blockers were for all intends and purposes pretty much a swat team. If police storms a house full of terrorists/gang members/what have you they don't knock on the door and ask to duel each other 1 on 1 either.



While Amon's people do not have any authority to just straight up attack and kidnap others, not even if they are criminals, then taking away something they were born with. Imagine a group of 10 people surrounding, then subduing you, then cutting off your right arm.

Yes Korra attacked the gang members too, and she would have gotten in trouble for it if not for Tenzin, BUT at least where I am from, attacking someone to protect someone else or yourself directly, the shop owners in this case, is perfectly okay as long as the amount of force used is not excessive, i.e. not shooting someone in the face who tries to steal your lollipop. So the only thing she should have gotten in trouble for was the collateral damage to the buildings and so on.

On the other hand,
Seeing Korra go all out with water bending when she didn't have to worry about coordinating with the others was awesome. I also liked how the relationship situation was handled. Korra thought her date with Bolin was more of a hanging out thing, while he was more into her in a romantic sense, which I thought was interesting. I was glad that at the end, Mako didn't have to make a decision. He just told Korra that things were weird and he was pop flyin' to be dating Asami, and Korra was pretty cool about it, which I thought was relatable.

Lol why can't I ever catch shows when they're supposed to be aired.
