I liked the episode, regardless. Moffat does good in one off things.

The thing about Angels though is that in their first appearance the Doctor wasn't there. That was the key to the whole thing. No time machine, no way back. And as they show up, more and more powers are given, and their rules are bent.

What this episode was lacking though, was the same sense of urgency from the first time. But that's because we have a blue box this time. The Angels lose any threat, outside of the people they're sending back sending messages to their futures selves that make time fixed. The SoL should have had a bigger role. It's in this episode for the pure fact that everything is an angel and looking cool. Come on! If something that big and awesome was used, then it should have had impact. It's role could be taken by any other angel just as well. Apparently taking over statues is how they reproduce or something.

What really irked me right off the bat was the bit about the afterward. "We can't see them anymore! One more paradox would destroy New York! Oh, yeah, give them this letter, K?"

It was still a really nice episode in a character way for the Ponds.

A question:
He is actually the Face of Bo, right?

Last time I checked, yes.

I will admit, I did kind of like the character writing in this episode. But aside from that, it is a really disappointing episode, especially the Statue of Liberty part, which creates so many plot holes it isn't even funny.

YOU MANIACS! YOU SCREWED IT UP! OH, daisies YOU! GODDAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

Rory died three times in this episode.

What's that bring the total up to? like, 10?

While the Doctor wants to go Back and see the Ponds, that would ruin a lot of the purpose of the previous four episodes and such revolving around whether Amy and Rory want to spend their lives together or with the Doctor. Sure, in Power of Three, they decided to head off with the Doctor again, but Amy changed her mind when she didn't want her husband to die alone. And I think the only reason that River Can go and see them to get the book published is because she has the Wrist time travel device, not sure if it's actually a Vortex Manipulator or not. River did say that it made it much easier for her to get to spots where the TARDIS couldn't due to time energy and such blocking the way.

I think it's because he's a "straggler" like the Doctor said, but since the Temporal Energy Farm went out of commission and was destroyed, it's probably more like since there was no Temporal Energy Farm, only a few Angels decided to stick around New York rather than a whole lot of them existing.

They sent their victims back in time in Blink. They escalated into killing because????

Because in The Time of Angels, where they started killing people, the radiation leaking from the crashed ship's engine was more than enough energy to fuel them rather than zapping people back in time. They were snapping people's necks because they were in the way, that's all. The Angels in Manhattan didn't have that luxury.

All in all there was closure, but there are still a lot of plot holes that piss me off.

A friend of mine just suggested this:
Why couldn't River just go back in time, plant the headstone before they die, and save them anyway? What's wrong with faking their deaths?

The more you think about recent Moffat episodes, the less sense they make!

And to think that THIS is the guy who is going to answer the question "Doctor Who?" I'm very concerned.

Guys, another paradox wouldn't be caused by the TARDIS landing in 1930s New York, it would be caused by just the Doctor seeing Amy again. The final chapter of the book was 'Amy's Last Goodbye' or something and since the Doctor read it it was then fixed so he couldn't ever see her again under any circumstances lest he create a paradox. River could go back because she hadn't read that, but she couldn't bring Amy back with her because the Doctor can't see her. That's the way I understood it at least.

I'd really really like to see The Master again.

I hope he wasn't really killed off for good.

In the End of Time (Part 2) he was attacking Rassilon when the Doctor destroyed the link. The Master disappeared in the same flash of light as the Time Lords (and Gallifrey). When the link was destroyed, it put the Time Lords + Planet back where they should be - in the Time War. The Master got taken, too.

My guess is the 50th anniversary thing will be the Time War, so we might see him again.

Okay, as much as I liked this episode, there were multiple plot holes that annoyed me, most of which have been addressed. Howis River alive if her parents technically died years before they travelled with the Doctor? I don't know, maybe I'm just blind/dumb. I honestly liked the Ponds as companions, and this was a good sendoff(opinions!), but that plothole and other things just bug me.

That's not a plothole. The Amy and Rory that were sent back in time had already lived their lives up to that point. Their lives weren't cancelled out and rewritten in the past - they still lived and grew up in the modern world.

As much as I'd like to see that, I doubt it will happen. Why? Paul McGann, that's why.

I think people might notice the age difference.
