It's very much depending on what your tastes are. Do you want a good story with interesting characters or do you just like mecha to go pew pew and look shiny (which is also great).

I found that watching Gundam Unicorn is really worth your time and then to go back and watch the other Gundam - Universal Century works.

I like good story as well as cool mecha. Child characters are annoying. I really like the 08th MS team because it was kind of mature. Gurren lagen was neat, but just a little too over the top.

I did see fhe first few episodes of unicorn. It looked so promising! Did they finish that series? Thanks for the suggestions.

Unicorn did get pretty rad, but the ending is nonsensical. If you're down with more realistic fare, try Patlabor or VOTOMS, seems like you don't really like the Super Robot stuff.

Thanks for the recommendations! My tolerance for sillyness has been going down as I get older. Gundam age with it's child protagonists was so daisies grating.

I'd say most Gundam shows have some degree of silliness in them, but I very much agree that the child characters tend to be incredibly annoying. Did not so much have that problem with AGE though, especially in the second and third seasons.

The ending to Unicorn was a bit out there, but not disturbingly so IMO.

If you want a good Gundam series with kids check out Build Fighters. Unlike AGE which was bland and unfocused, Build Fighters is delightfully zany and heavily focused on bitchin' robot fights. The whole thing is on youtube too.

Viz will be giving My Hero Academia an English localization. I'm excited.

I need it. Just pulp it up and inject it straight into my veins. BNHA is the first manga in a while that I'm actually going to collect.

The Offical TL is cool, but i love the guy currently doing TL for BNHA
He's so chill and explains alot of the cultural stuff in his TL notes which is really nice, plus he americanizes the jokes instead of direct translating them which i appreciate, but know not everyone likes.

Which Gundam anime is recommended for someone who wants to get into Gundam but hates "Gunpla" and watching anime?

War in the Pocket, 08th MS Team, Gundam Wing, G Gundam, Gundam 00, and the original Mobile Suit Gundam are all great places to start, it all depends on what your tastes are.

And if you don't like anime then ZZ Gundam, cuz it's not an anime.

Real talk, up until the second half, ZZ has more in common with Looney Tunes than most Gundam series. It's still worth checking out, but there's a reason it's not included in the big trilogy of Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, and Char's Counterattack.

I'm not even interested in Gundam and I'm already sold
