Build Fighters Try had its mid season upgrade thing and new intro and outro today. The three main mobile suits went from; gun to lots of gun, karate bullshit to super karate bullshit 2 turbo, and actually really neat transformation that wasn't shown. All of these were known well in advance thanks to the gunpla, which has actually been pretty rad overall.

The best thing about the latest episode was the MOTHER FUCKING TRI ZETA YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
IT HAS ROCKET PUNCHES and dear god this is the kinda stuff I wanted from Try to begin with: rad combining super robots, cool team combo attacks/strategies, etc.
Sadly we didn't, and probably won't get those last things since they've been handling the whole team thing pretty badly. But who knows?

In non-robot news, there's a new show this season called Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE! and it's a legit magical boy anime. It's pretty self-aware and amusing so far, and it's got the same producer as Nichibros, which is definitely promising.

Lesbian Bear Storm is weird. The main character's girlfriend seems kinda bland, the worst parts of the show are when they're together and not getting eaten by bears.

Everything is pretty enjoyable, even if Fumina is all blatant fan service, but I cannot for the life of me like the Build Burning. It's just flash and bland.

It's still fun to watch but it isn't as good as season one. I don't really have any problem with Build Burning though. Just wish it had more moves than punch and kick. Does it even have vulcans? It needs some versatility.

Been re-reading some older series, decided to revisit Sketchbook. Still charmingly airheaded and stuffed full of nature-related puns that I'll never understand.

Also reading through a bit of Liar Game since I'm still not sure if it's actually finished yet and hoooly crap the kinds of hate comments Nao gets in the beginning are crazy. As soon as you're not a model supergenius character who can single-handedly destroy whatever obstacle you're facing in a manga you're immediately the readers' first choice to get killed off apparently.

I've been re-reading the entire run of Dragonball. It's making me fall in love with the series all over again, after years of wry feelings from how shitty the property is being handled (looking at you videogames).

Found this cute little Mini-manga set after the events of Omega Ruby where Brendan dates a Team Magma grunt he meets.

I'm no pro at Manga, but it's really adorable, whole translation of everything so far is right here.

I could listen to this all day long. And the anime itself is pretty good too.

So in LBS, what does it mean when the two lesbian bears are put on trial for eating girls, and then they're shown licking the honey off of Kureha's flower? Like, it's some sort of Magical Girl Transformation, but I don't get what it does. So far, it's only done when Kureha's getting attacked by bears, but I don't know how the court and the licking scenes affect her situation. For instance, in this episode she was saved from a bear attack by the class rep chick's shooting the bear through the head. And the first episode also didn't make much sense. Also, when the class rep chick was shown witnessing the two lesbian bears eating Kureha's girlfriend, it was unreliable narration, for the class rep chick was the bear who ate Kureha's girlfriend, apparently, so how is that supposed to make sense when the creators are playing cheap tricks on the audience? This show doesn't make sense.

Apparently that's par for the course for the guy who writes this. It's all metaphors and shit that doesn't even make sense to overanalyzing english majors.

So, I gather you guys know your mecha. I was into gundam for a time, but then there came that one gundam.. with the actual children. That was shite.

Any recomendations on good mecha or where to find it? My cable has nothing but garbage. Hulu has a bit, but not much.

For finding stuff, you're best bet is probably gonna be torrents or 3rd party streaming sites, both of which we're not really supposed to discuss here so I'll leave it at that. I think there might be a few things on netflix as well.

As for actual recommendations, we kinda need to know what you like in your anime period, since there's a lot of variety in giant robots. Have you seen any mecha before that you've liked? It'd also help to know what kinda sci-fi you like.

Anyway, here's a link to a guide to Gundam since you mentioned it already; you're gonna want to read the FAQ bit on the right.
