I've been told plot wise, Avatar was disappointing.

But it's all about the graphics and just that intense experience that brings everyone back to see it again and again

I've been meaning to see it sometime.

The story is far too predictable, just because it's been done before. Poctanosm, Fern Gully, Dances with Wolves, Princess Mononoke, etc.

What really got me about the plot is that the human characters' motivation for being on the planet is not explained enough. You don't care why they're there. They just want to mine this awfully named rock. For real drama and plot advancement, you have to care about both of the sides, not just the blue people.

Princess Mononoke does this best. The human characters all live good, honest lives and are very nice, and even the leader of Iron Town took in brothel girls and lepers to give them better lives.

I actually enjoyed all of Avatar. I didn't leave disappointed. But the story has been done better.

I thought the plot was kind of stupid. How it was executed was amazing. Too much tree hugging BS though. At least on their planet the save the trees thing actually matters.

I liked it. We have to remember that the orginal script was made like 15 years ago or whatever, so the plot was probably a bit less stale back then. A bit. Also unobtainium is an awful name, I agree, but it could just be what all the colonists ironically call it. Let's not forget Americanium exists.

Just to warn you, I'm a film student. I have to find little things to complain about. :I

Okay.

One, there was too much fighting. I don't recall that many brawls in the stories. Too out of character.

Robert Downey, Jr. mumbled too much and spoke too quickly with that fake British accent for me to even understand what he was saying sometimes.
Pretty much EVERYTHING in the movie was explained by saying "Oh, it was in the midget's lab." I understand that he was the one making the stuff for the guy, but when he revealed how he figured the stuff out, and each point was that it was in the lab, it just wasn't that exciting.

And IT ENDED IN A FUCKING CLIFFHANGER. This is just personal taste, BUT I AM SO SICK OF FUCKING CLIFFHANGERS.
Other than that, I enjoyed the deduction scenes where he would figure something out right off the top of his head.

On the Spiderman thing, what the /fuck/. It's not even old enough nor was it that bad (financial wise, anyway) of a trilogy to need a reboot. Fucking Hollywood.

From what I gathered, it's not that they wanted to do a reboot.

Raimi, Maguire, and all the other people who made it good suddenly quit.

And, so now, they're doing a reboot. Like EVERY OTHER FUCKING SERIES/TV SHOW/MOVIE IN EXISTENCE.

I saw something about Michael Cera in the comment section.

I SWEAR ON ALL THINGS HOLY THAT IF THAT MUMBLING, SARCASTIC, PASTY-SKINNED FUCKHAT GOES ANYWHERE NEAR THE SPIDER-MAN FRANCHISE I WILL DESTROY SEVERAL SMALL COUNTRIES IN A BLAZE OF WHITE FLAMES THAT WILL BURN FOR SEVERAL MILLENNIA.
