Moffat has good ideas. He just has bad execution.
That Christmas one? Fun little adventure, maybe could've used some more Narnia references, but overall a good episode. Except forgetting about the wounded guy in the plane. Latest episode...Dalek Parliament (They're a form of democracy!?) could've had mention of the Mighty Morphin' Dalek Rangers from last season and that could've given it some justification. Instead, it just exists to kick off the plot and raise questions about where the heck those Daleks came from.

Rory and Amy did seem to be a bit quick to get back together, but it would've been awkward for The Doctor to drag them along a few more episodes to get the desired effect. Amy would probably kill him if that happened. So it's sort of forgivable.

The cracks were erasing events out of time. The Doctor explained this when Amy didn't recognize the Dalek in the war bunker, despite the planet having been invaded just the previous year.

When the cracks were fixed, everything was put back how it was, which is why Amy's parents suddenly existed - they had been swallowed up by the cracks as well. Of course, this also added the giant plot hole of the Doctor using the cracks to beat an army of Weeping Angels, but year, none of the RTD era was said to never have happened.

Mess with the fabric of reality itself, and things happen

I thought it was alright, definitely a better ending than Journey's End. Thankfully, you backed up your opinion, so at least I can attempt to make sense out of Moffat's ramblings.

How was Oswin able to make her own voice be heard over the speakers?
Supposedly she is a genius hacker, and she has had a whole year to integrate with Dalek hardware. I'm pretty thankful they used this justification, actually, because what we saw on screen was a fairly typical (read: inaccurate) media depiction of hacking.

Quote:
Why was she locked up in the first place if the whole reason the Daleks captured her was to use her genius?

They wanted to use her genius, minus her. Her personality was surviving the conversion, and that made them fear her.
And if all the Daleks are locked in the time war, WHY THE HELL IS THE DALEK PARLIAMENT OUT AND ABOUT NOW?!

Oh, that one's easy. Only around 4 daleks escaped the time war, but they founded the Mighty Morphin' Dalek Rangers... in world war II. They've had plenty of time to rebuild, and the parliament probably didn't even exist until then.

But the Daleks in the Parliament--save for a few--all looked like old-model Daleks, without the rainbow colors.

And just because Oswin is a "Genius hacker" wouldn't make her able to project her HUMAN voice on the speakers. In reality, she is a dalek. She would speak with a dalek's voice. Only in her dream world would her voice sound like what it was as a human.

And that still doesn't settle my biggest pet peeve, which was Amy and Rory's relationship issues. It was a problem and then it was solved, just like that. Like a magic wand. I didn't even get a chance to TRY to care about what was happening.

Also, apparently Moffat knows the people have issues about this episode and he doesn't even CARE. He chalked one person's issues up to 'verbal abuse' and 'people telling him how to do his job'.

It's like he's the Tom Preston of tv shows or something--unable to listen to one shred of criticism without getting his panties in a twist.

Ditto. That was a well thought out and written. I still enjoy Doctor Who quite a bit, but it had seemed to be lacking something since RTD left. That discussed up most of my problems, especially the historical checklist rather than random area with weird stuff. But I think the show is missing some of the suspense it once had. Not 'how exactly did this happen?' like River's whole backstory, brought down by her showing up too much and teasing to the point of insanity. That could've been made more suspenseful as having her show up around once a season, and maybe then do it for the 50th anniversary. But the suspense I'm talking about is more like: "How the hell are they gonna get out of this?" Remember the series 1 finale? one Dalek fleet imminent, and no hope of survival? I've seen several fleets, some all together, under Moffat's reign, and they have never posed the same threat level. This Doctor has never lost his cool and casually throws himself into danger, kind of the anti-Eccelston in my opinion. In fact, when's the last time Smith ever yelled because of fear or anger? not a satirical "Run! :D"

Wait you're complaining that the current doctor isn't like the past doctors?

Isn't that the exact point of the whole regeneration thing?

Each doctor has their own style and personality.

I guess what I'm complaining about is the distinct lack of darkness in the character. But you're right, he had a dash of it he'd be Tennent, if he was made of it he'd be Eccelston. Apparently I'm not fond of too much whimsy. Still, there's got to be more to a character than the amount of Emo moments they can go through, right?

I want to see what they do with it, I have watched so much Who that it baffles me to see certain things happen.

As far as the writing goes, I could take it or leave it things are constantly changing. So many crazy things happened after the "big bang" and history changes over and over. I dont think time travel is just a simple recon button but they still manage to make some decent things happen. I love the show, the idea, and the fact that the thing has been on since the 60's

While I love Dr. Who, one thing that bugs me is that there are so many worldwide alien invasions that take place in the present day, then the Doctor will travel to a few months or years into the future and people will be all like "holy shit aliens exist" when the monster in their closet turns out to be from another planet.
