Location: Dunno. There was no sign in the entrance. Gotta ask the townsfolk.
It's been some time since I stopped watching anime. I stick to good, ol' series, such as Rurouni Kenshin, Digimon... The only new adition was Darker than Black, 'cause Hei has such a sexy collarbone <3

I'd rather read manga, indeed. Lately, I've been stuck with Pokemon Adventures (got to the 6th chapter in 3 days, wahahaha).

Oops, started watching Slayers again.

I guess I can say goodbye to whatever else I was planning to do.

Dragonball Z Kai is pretty good despite it's very Nicktoons opening song (which I actually like)...

The fights no longer take 10 episodes to play out, instead only taking 2 episode for the entire Raditz fight and the redrawn look for the series, while the same, is updated so the series itself looks better visually. They kept most of the same English voice-actors, but switched up the previous announcer (Kyle Hebert) for a new one which I dislike a bit.

I'll probably get the unedited version when I gather some cheddar

Here's the beginning of the interview with Chris Sabat and Seán Schemmel

Quote:
If you're somehow not familiar with the two, Mr. Sabat is the ADR director for Dragon Ball Z Kai as well as voices Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha and various other characters. Mr. Schemmel is most well-known for voicing the most powerful being on Earth touted as IGN's #1 Anime Character of All Time. To his Saiyan enemies he is Kakarot, but you can just call him Goku. Seán also, depending on how you translate it, is the voice of God himself - King Kai.

This is my biggest problem with it. Ive been watching Kai for the better part of a year now and have fallen in love with "DOKKAN DOKKAN". Dubbing it, even with Sean's voice, just sounds terrible.

Compare with the original

Not exactly redrawn but it is remastered and looks very crisp and clean. Its more or less follows the manga to the letter now so theres not 14 episodes of filler between each part of an arc. I.E. Gohan's training takes two episodes instead of 15, gratned you miss out on some of his important character development like his encounters with the mining robot and the orphans but...probably for the best in the end.

I hate the new opening song to DBZKai

I really do.

The lyrics are embarrassing to listen to and it sounds incredibly generic like "most cartoons and anime auuugh"

In english, yes. Its an abomination. Undubbed it sounds great though and is daisies catchy. I actually really like how the OPs are being handled. Same song each time but the scenes change according to whatever saga it currently is.

Namek/Frieza Saga opening

EDIT: Man that 10 seconds of Frieza vs Goku makes me crave a redrawn fight with that kind of quality.

Oh, I hate the words as well for the English opening, what I like about it is the tune which is the same as the Japanese version

In japanese, it sounds a bit better but the lyrics still are sorta cheesy

Btw the english isnt translated lyrics. Its entirely new ones set the existing tune. They actually wrote that shit on purpose.
