I gotta ask creaky, which plotline of the book did you enjoy the most? I preferred the Navidson parts over the Johnny parts, mainly because of the awkward sex scene.
It's like we're seeing a man go insane, then BOOM 50 Shades of Grey, but the letters his mom sends him are pretty great.

I've been digging into a bunch of Lovecraft stories lately. Just got done with "The Colour Out of Space" and I think it legitimately gave me some scares, though it might have been in part due to having finished reading it at 3 in the morning.

Oh, easily Navidson, though I feel like Johnny's parts are important to the narrative, because it shows how the book can affect someone completely different from a man like Zampano. Johnny is young, full of sight, not intellectual in the slightest and yet ends up right in the path Zampano fell into

Colour out of Space is probably my favorite Lovecraft, but At the Mountains of Madness is really great too

Takes awhile to get going but after that it's really good

Dunwich Horror is really great too, really the only story that ever actually spooked me a bit

I also really like it because Yog-Sothoth is my favorite Elder God

Holy shit. I was just reading "From Beyond" and in it this guy builds a machine that lets humans see a parallel dimension full of alien creatures and sounds. Just as I was getting to a part where the narrator was describing everything fading and disappearing into a dark void, the goddamn power goes out and I am left in total darkness. It came right back on but holy fuck that made my heart do something unhealthy.

i'm not even halfway through yet and there were like 10 awkward sex scenes. dude fucks every girl he meets apparently haha

reading johnny's bits actually kinda make my head hurt because he runs on and on and on and on and gets super poetic haha sometimes i just want to get back to navidson but i know johnny is important
