I heard that he didn't want to stick around because he didn't like having to play the Doctor as a shell-shocked angry person post-time war. But I think he also didn't get along much with the producers or the directors.

I heard that he's coming back for the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, though!

I thought the official Eccleston story was that he didn't want to be forever known as "That guy who played the Doctor!" like David Tennant and Matt Smith are.

That's what I've heard a lot of too. I'm sure those other things might also be a factor. I think he tried out for the Doctor mainly to have more family-friendly works on his resume.

In all honesty, it was nice to have a slightly more serious take on The Doctor. Eccleston filled that role excellently.

And that's why I like his Doctor, it makes sense. He probably regenerated during the Time War, so he was bitter, violent to an extent, and angsty. He slowly gets better over the course of his season, and I think it's implied that Ten was so pop flyin' and fun loving because Rose showed the Doctor how to have fun again.

Series 7.

First episode was easily the best series opener since the show restarted in 2005.

Next episode features Mr. Weasley (Rory's dad), Argus Filch (villain), Egyptians, and dinosaurs.

That was some good Who.

I genuinely did not expect that twist. Good-O.

Isn't Dalek-girl the Doctor's new companion?

Played by the same actress, but not the same character. They share a last name but not the first.

Personally I'd love to see Craig and his wife as companions for a bit.

Oh man, a group of Craig, Sophie, and Alfie traveling with the Doctor would be great. On another note, Series Seven is looking pretty good so far, but it could snowball near the end like Series Six( everything past AGMGTW just felt weird to me, imo ).

It could partially be from the nanomachines slowly erasing her memory, but then again she said she couldn't have anymore after what happened with Melody on Demon's Run, so maybe she can't stand the thought of losing another child( technically, they never lost her, but they didn't really get a chance to raise her, so biologically she,s theirs, but Kovarian and the Silence brought her up ).

I was under the impression that it was a more... physical issue, perhaps done purposefully at Demon's Run.
