I suggest starting at Part III Stardust Crusaders. Work your way back or foreward from there.

I watched Clannad today.
I'm glad I did, even though I still don't know exactly what was going on, and what the hell it was hopefully supposed to be symbolic of.

I suggest looking it up. You can find it's symbolism on wikipedia I think

Didn't find it one wikipedia. I guess they changed the article.

I found some other interpretations, but I doubt I'm gonna read them.
None of them are guaranteed to be right, and I actually like my theories on what the show was supposed to tell me just fine.
I guess I just need a while to think about it. Watching the whole thing in a day didn't really help.

It's symbolism might be supposed to be subjective, but from what I heard, it had a lot to do with the time of a boy's life where he hits puberty and starts growing up. Yet it feels like it shows to not lose your sense of child-like innocence.

Yeah, that's part of what I think, too.

But I also consider Mamimi's personality and Naota's abusive relationships with both her and Haruko to be pretty important.
I feel there's some message in there that goes beyond puberty, I just haven't quite figured it out yet.
