Finished the third season. I was all like DAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYUMMMMM. I wasn't really moved when Martha left. Definitely like Rose more than her. Blink was pretty cool because it was the only episode that I found to be a little unsettling.

Don't see Martha looking into the heart of the TARDIS now, do you?
I dunno, I didn't really feel attached to her. She was all right, but I just thought Rose and the Doctor had a better chemistry. Could just be because Rose was around for longer, but Martha was a bit flat as a character to me. Rose was dealing with her father, her changing relationship with Mickey, and all of the Doctor's issues, but Martha was kind of just like WOAH LOOK AT THIS COOL SHIT! DOCTOR YOU'RE DREAMY! DOCTOR PAY ATTENTION TO ME! STOP THINKING ABOUT ROSE! I liked that she left with dignity at the end and had medical skills and all, but overall I don't think she connected with the Doctor as much.

I feel like Martha was too obvious a replacement for Rose. It actually became a minor Character point.

Rose is overrated and extremely annoying. She, bodaciously, couldn't do anything right. She was the definition of the current human being. Struck in awe of the unknown and immediately makes the stupidest decision she thinks benefits her wants.

I hated Rose so much it actually hurt the first Series for me. Only saving graces was Mickey, The Ninth and Jack.

Martha is my favorite companion because while, yes, she too loved The Doctor she never really flaunted it or made idiotic decisions for him. She actually had thought out plans and feelings about what to do. Go back and watch the episodes over, Martha was the most realistic companion. And she only ever tried to tell The Doctor to forget about Rose so that he could actually be pop flyin' again and think more clearly, not so that he'd fall for her instead.

Rory > Martha > Donna > Amy > Rose > River

I just finished watching The 5 Doctors.
Wonderful special, even though it's false advertising since the 4th doctor didn't have a role.

He declined to take part, so they used scenes cut from earlier episodes.

Sort of like Christopher Eccleston saying he would never return to Doctor Who. If he stays true to those words, they will have to get some TV magic going to make the 50th anniversary have all the living Doctor actors in it like everyone expects.

I wonder why he refused. Was he sick of it after 7 years?

Didn't want to be forever associated with the role.

Kind of like how David Tennant is forever "that guy who was the Doctor!" and, yes, he was in other things, but everyone knows him as the Doctor.

He figured one year was just long enough to be an important part of the series but not too long to be forever typecast afterwards.

Yeah makes sense. Often happens when one of your first major roles is a total hit.
Like Daniel Radcliffe - Harry Potter and so on.

So, I recently re-watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and I realized that David Tennant played Barty Crouch Jr. when he wasn't disguised as Mad-Eye.

I hadn't made the connection before because I didn't know anything about Doctor Who the last time I watched that movie, but I thought that was pretty interesting. Tennant plays a good madman, even though his appearance was brief.

Proof that being super famous for one role you had can be a good thing for other roles.
I haven't seen a single episode of the 10th doctor yet, but I still noticed that that Barty Crouch Jr. looked familiar. In the credits I've seen that I was right.
He's pretty good.
Alan Rickman plays Metatron in Dogma, that's funny too.

Goblet of Fire was 2005.

He wasn't the Doctor until 2006.
