I guess Moffat is going for a recurring theme of the importance of being human.
What's his face (Craig?) resisting conversion to Cyberman.
That Dalek android scientist guy.
and here.

those can make good stories. And he isn't failing completely; just failing to make them really compelling in most cases. (well, that's my opinion.)

Oh man. That part in the episode was so corny--even cornier than the rest of the entire episode. I really didn't care for it.

I heard a rumor that the 7th series won't start until fall of 2012. I don't think I can wait that long.

Series 7 will start where the second half began in Series 6, around September. It'll run for half a Series and then come back in it's normal place around February/March of 2013 for the rest of it's Series. And then apparently with the conclusion of Series 7 we'll be getting 2 additional Specials a la Tennant's four Specials with Matt Smith.

And when that's all said and done, a month or two later around September 2013, again, Moffat has said he has "big things" planned for the 50th Anniversary. So I suspect another 2-4 Specials, one each month, that features Matt Smith encountering one or two previous Doctors in each Special since a few of them want to come back but don't want to have EVERY Doctor available take part because it would be a convoluted mess trying to have each Doctor incarnation look "amazing" in only a few 45 minute episodes.

If they DID manage to get Christopher Eccleston to come back as the 9th Doctor (he has said before he would never return to the show), then they should not announce it and let it surprise everyone.

Why did he not want to return?

He didn't want to be forever seen and thought of as "the Doctor".

You know, like how every time someone sees David Tennant in something they go "He's the Doctor!"

THat's why he only agreed for one series.

Ah. Yeah, I can understand where a lot of actors wouldn't want to be type-cast into one role all the time.

Apparently Eccleston had major issues with RTD, mostly, along with one or two other BBC employees higher up on the ladder and how they treated their actors/actresses.

Now that RTD is gone, and rumor is those two employees now work in different branches of the BBC organization and not in the Doctor Who vein of the company, Moffat has said he'll do his best to ask Eccleston to reprise his role just one last time for the 50th Anniversary but can't make any promises.

Apparently Eccleston/Moffat never had any beef or falling outs of any kind. So who knows, as much as I hate and despise on Moffat 24/7, maybe he'll do something good for me and bring back one of my favorite actors to reprise the role of the 9th.

I have access to Netflix now so I've basically been binging on Doctor Who for a few days. Up to the forth episode of the third season. It's p. good. Wasn't sure I'd want to continue watching it after Rose, but Martha is all right.

None of the companions are anywhere NEAR as good as Donna Noble.

The only companion not to want to get into the Doctor's pants.

I still don't understand the Rose hate. But whatever.
Donna is indeed by far the best companion.
Avengifier, don't mouse over this

The change at the end where he wiped her memory really shows just how much character development she went though, and that makes her my favorite character by default. For her, the Doctor wasn't just a "whee on a bunch of magic space dates!" It was a legit life-changing experience.
