I'm hesitant to read R.L. Stine's "Temptation" It's about vampires who make a bet to woo and later have a woman become a vampire within in a month. If they try to turn them before the month is up, the woman dies

I'm the first person to read it in my district.

Being the first to read new books feels like I'm doing something very naughty.

It's only naughty if you mess with the spine.

Finished American Gods recently and upon mentioning this my friends inform me that it's due a sequel and tv series.

This is good news.

I'd be lying if I didn't admit anything that comes out from Neil Gaiman sounds like good news to me.

Finished Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War.

The book is well written, but the story is depressing no matter who you support. I'm genuinely surprised they let this go through.

Just finished Game of Thrones book one. Was pretty under-whelmed and I don't know how to break it to my lovely friend who sent me the book.

My partner says fantasy is probably not my thing. I'm inclined to agree. My attention span is far too short for that sort of thing.

I thought the first book was good, but things truly start to become interesting in book 2.

I'm discussing it with my partner now. I can go into detail about why I don't like it, but honest opinions are pretty harsh. Also I think after reading 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' I find this kinda weak in comparison.

yeah the story does pick up more in the second and consecutive books, but if it's just not your thing don't force yourself.

I've never particularly understood why book series exist that you have to apparently read the second one to start thinking it's good. It should be good from the get-go so you have a reason to continue.
