Positive. It's better than nothing, and I don't mind the repeating voice actors much because I'm glad the overall quality of dubs has increased since people started bringing anime over here.

Oh goddammit. Why the hell are all antagonists in Fairy Tail evil for the sake of being evil without any reason behind it. Like "taking away a lollipop from a baby" kind of evil. That's the only thing I can't stand about it.

Shounen manga. I mostly read it for power varieties, like the one who can write rules into existence.

In most other shonen manga it doesn't bother me much because it's demons or things like that.
But those are humans who want to reawaken an immeasurably strong and evil black wizard "because it would be great". Why not at least give them a flimsy reason like "using his power to control the world" or something. Instead most villains didn't state any reason at all why they did what they did.

Oh, that does get explained later on. They're not doing it for the lulz, but rather to open the way to the World of Magic. Apparently it's where you can learn the lost kinds of magic like time and shit that were forgotten on purpose because they fuck everything up. It's also said to be where the One Magic is at, the source of all magic. Think of all the magic as rings and the One Magic is the One Ring I guess.

Need to watch Durarara!! and Bakemonogatari. My friend and I are doing a 'fan-swap'. He's reading Homestuck, and I'm watching some of his favourite Anime.

I'm on volume 18 of Fairy Tail right now, and the villains woke up this great power that can turn good people evil and evil people good. It apparently has to do with one of them having a vendetta against a wizard's guild. It seems overkill to me, but characters in manga have done a LOT more for the sake of revenge.

Finished FLCL, it was good but idk it didn't really do it for me? I enjoyed it but it never really 'clicked'. For some reason I decided to watch it subbed, and now I hear the dub was critically acclaimed. Just my luck.

Clannad's dub isn't bad, but it's acclaimed in terms of dubs.

The japanese cast is so unique, half of them have hardly even been in anything else and Haruko's VA didn't even have to audition, the character was designed around her.

What didn't click exactly?

Hard to say, it might just be that that kind of humor doesn't really do it for me. I digged the action scenes and the animation was of course outstanding, but I wasn't that invested in the characters or the plot. I guess the nonsensical style doesn't fly that well with me. I caught most of the symbolism I think, but that didn't add that much to the experience for me. It was interesting though, can't say I've seen anything like it before.
