I think I'm going to try reading the Bible even though I'm agnostic. Mostly because the Binding of Isaac has a lot of cool biblical references and I want to get them

Be forewarned, the Bible is a conglomerate of texts and isn't really designed as a linear read-straight-through sort of thing

You're allowed to skip the huge pages of "This guy begot this guy begot this guy begot this guy begot this guy begot this guy (who lived for 231 years) who begot this guy who begot this guy..."

If you just want to get references you could always look up what book of the Bible that person/story is in and just read that book. It should be enough context.

I tried reading that in high school on my own time... mostly because of Bioshock. I got about halfway through it and I had to put it down to do other high school stuff and I never really got back to it. I gotta finish it sometime, but it's just so looong. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed what I read. I also liked the movie they just made.

So I reread The Fault in Our Stars today

It is without a doubt my favorite book in the world.

“As the tide washed in, the Dutch Tulip Man faced the ocean:

‘Conjoiner rejoinder poisoner concealer revelator. Look at it,

Rising up and rising down, taking everything with it.’

‘What’s that?’ Anna asked.

‘Water,’ the Dutchman said. ‘Well, and time.’

so "invisible monsters remix" is pretty fantastic

the original is good but the remix really adds something, the chapter jumping gives it a good feeling

also i love p much everything by palahnuik, except for choke and snuff, didn't care much for those

I recommend picking up the graphic novel The Tale of One Bad Rat by Bryan Talbot.

It made me feel feels.

Just finished reading Neverwhere, I'm sure Willow's proud of me now.

I liked the overal story, how the characters interacht and how the world if presented, even though certain things were a bit predictable at times.

The Dispossessed is pretty good. Ursula Le Guin is pretty great.
