can anyone recommend any modern dystopian novels? So far I've read: Lord of the Flies, 1984, Brave New World, WE, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, The Handmaid's Tale (which I liked a lot), Gone, The Hunger Games, The Fear and Animal Farm (although idk if that is really dystopian.) I'm thinking of reading Children of Men next, but some new ideas would be good. I think I'll read Fahrenheit 451 next, any thoughts?

I just finished the first Dark Tower book. The Gunslinger is a fucking badass.

The Giver is pretty good, Tales. I dunno if that qualifies as a "dystopian society" novel.

I remember reading that for school. I rather enjoyed it.

Then came the question of wither or not he lives at the end.
there are sequels, teachers. They aren't directly after, but they are there. It's like Capt. Nemo at the end of 20,000 leagues under the sea.

It is a dystopia, albeit one made for children. So it's a LOT softer than the one you've read already, Tales. Whether this makes you more or less interested, I wouldn't know.

Also, go ahead and read Fahrenheit 451. It's pretty good, to put it bluntly.

I need a bunch of recommendations of stuff to read.

Pretend like I've never read a novel in my life (but I can read, hurr). Then recommend me anything. (Preferably classics?)

Anything by H. P. Lovecraft.

Be aware that HP Lovecraft can unavoidably racist in his writings. If that bothers you but you still want something sort of lovecrafty try Lord Dunsany or Edgar Allan Poe

I'm hankering for some good medieval historical period books.

Or some books set in cottages.

Anyone know any good ones?

I just couldn't get over the pulp that is Star Wars books right after reading Brandon Sanderson's work, so I decided to read A Song of Ice and Fire again, starting with book 3.

It's a pageturner with a important message. Worth reading once I suppose.

The Damned Busters was the funniest thing I've read in a long time.
An Actuary and a demon from the Prohibition era team up and THEY FIGHT CRIME.
