I haven't watched Usagi Drop, but if I'm not misremembering I haven't heard anything bad about it.

Yeah, Usagi Drop was pretty good and I'd recommend it. Heartwarming and shit like that. Then I read the manga and they fucked up everything. EVERYTHING. GOD DAMN IT.

Okay what the hell did Narukami say during a thirty minute interlude that could have been summed up as "Enter the beauty pageant."

Episode 19!

-Kanji and Narukami are a little too willing to go along with this cross dressing pageant.
-Narukami is having way too much fun with the group-date cafe. And his expression never changing makes it all the funnier.
-Kanji does not do that dress justice AT ALL. Also I cracked up at the background, "That's strangely plausible!" for Hanamura. Narukami is just scary. And Kuma knocks it completely out of the park.
-Chie tries to be cute and Hanamura shoots it down. Yukiko is shy and Narukami's response is kind of creepy. Rise pulls it off of course. Naoto chickens out. And wins. Okay that's hilarious.
-Trombone girl gives the least appropriate BGM to this conversation.

And that's when I knew she was going to be my favorite character. She was already making her way up there, but this cemented it.

Hot spring episode proves everyone's a pervert. Especially Narukami.

The manga is fine...

until volume 5. I'm just going to ignore everything after the time skip.

I didn't mind the end result of the series too much (though it does feel pretty weird when you reflect back on the beginning of the series), but everything between that and the end... NOPE.

But yeah, the anime is great, and you'll d'aww all over it.

Did Persona 4 seriously just kill off Nanako? Really? I thought kids had plot immunity, even if it is a SMT story.

EDIT: Also, I think Adachi has something to do with the murders. Locked onto him before Namatame showed up. But he's not the big bad. If I recall from Japanese mythology, Izanagi was paired with Izanami as the two gods. The protagonist wields Izanagi as his Persona, so my theory is that the true enemy's is Izanami.

Yeah, didn't mean to say the manga was bad. It was definitely good until the time skip. Then it just went slowly downhill for me until it got to, well, I'm not even gonna type it. You know what I'm talking about. It should have ended before the time skip.

Or really, it could have just kept going after volume 4 without skipping to 10 years later. True, the story "wrapped up" in volume 4 with Daikichi's first year with Rin, but the big problem with the time skip is the genre shift.

It went from "d'aww, look at how heartwarming this story is and how realistic these kids are" to "LOVE DRAMA EVERYWHERE."

After finishing volume 4, I'm left wanting more, but everything past that is not what I want from the series. :/
