I watched that as a cartoon movie when I was a kid. I remember NOTHING about it besides the dog with a clock inside him.

I've got a few things lined up for summer reading, but I'm going painfully slow with them.

The thing I'm making the most progress with right now is Carl Jung's autobiography, Memories, Dreams, and Reflections. It's not exactly a page-turner, but it is full of wisdom and insight into a very enlightened man. I am learning a lot about myself just by reading it. And, it sounds pretentious, but I feel smarter just by reading it.

I'm learning as much as I can about Jung in order to prepare myself for the day I can afford this. Basically, The Red Book is the very thoroughly thought out and brilliantly illustrated story of a mid-life crisis which snowballs into a psychotic breakdown. As Jung felt his psyche beginning to tear, he decided to "never to let a figure or figures that he encountered leave until they had told him why they had appeared to him." The result is a dive head first into the madness of the unconscious, flashlight in hand. The story told within is that of a hero's journey (fitting, considering that Carl Jung came up with the concept of the archetype) that leads to what can only be described as "enlightenment." I really want to own this book someday. I will read it and re-read it, learn from it, and reflect on and express what I have learned through my own art, in the only way that seems fitting:

A rock opera.

Started going through Yeats again. I find myself being pretty daisies picky with the poetry I actually bother reading, but there's just something so rythmically satisfying in his voice. Not a single word that isn't perfect.

I've been thinking about trying to read Clockwork Orange. The only thing holding me back is that I don't know if it's available in my library.

Add that to the list of books I want to read over the summer and my literature schedule is looking pretty nice.

I just remembered I read Fight Club recently. I got it because I wanted to see if it was better than the movie. Surprisingly, they're both great. The book is better at expressing certain things, and the movie is better in other areas. Overall, they're both about equal in quality. Which is to say, awesome.

I've just finished reading The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 and it was rather good, I hope to read the others (if they have them in the school library). Anybody else read them or heard of them?

Recently I found out my grandfather had written a book about living in Denmark during WW2. I found some of the chapters he sent to my brother from 2000. Honestly reading some of it brings tears to my eyes. I'm also sharing some of the chapters with my history teacher because he loves this kinda stuff.

As for summer reading... man I go though books like crazy when I have the time. So I'm probably going to raid my library weekly and drop by Chapters once in a while. Though I know I want to take out a bunch more Terry Prattchet books since I want to read ALL OF THEM.

I recently read Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.
The story was great, it blended non fiction and fiction very well, enough to make it seem plausible.

I also read Tinkers
a little book i must re-read seeing as i don't recall the point of the book. might try to read it in one sitting since its under 200 pages.

Right now i am reading Fires of Heaven the fifth book in the Wheel of Time series.
I'm enthralled in the story right now but with the previous books there was low spots in the story for me.
So far though I have been waiting to hear more of Perrin's story but i guess this is where he starts to split the stories up to sections not just by chapters.
But i can't wait for skyrim because it has a similar "feel" world and story wise.

The book I am reading now is one of the factual type. Two authors and you can clearly see when they change. One talks about how bad men are and how women always are threatened but supposed to be strong, the other, a man, stays neutral.

A painfully easy line to trip over as a female writer. The line between equality and feminism.

Holy fuck Stran do not say that to a feminist.
