Tarrlok. You are no longer the greatest dick in this show. The honor now belongs to Hiroshi Sato.

What's with Avatar and terrible fathers?

Any that I missed?

But Tarrlok is still a dick.

Toph's father

You missed Zuko for cursing his son to have the voice of an angsty teenager forever.

It really would have been better if Amon was who he said he was when he was lying. We already had a ton of Daddy issues villains in the first series, so why did they have to do it again here? A villain who is considered a villain for believing so strongly in something that he is willing to go to war would have been much more intriguing and mature for Legend of Korra instead of the typical children's cartoon standard of man who lies to the people just because he wants power.

However, I did think that Tarrlok's murder-suicide was a rather mature end for those two.

Yes thank you!

"Oh.

Korra was going to kill herself.

That’s what the slow motion shot of the tear falling off the cliff meant.

If she’s the avatar and she can’t bend she might as well die so there can be a new avatar.

Or else the world would be without an Avatar and there’d be another hundred year war.

So by deciding that suicide was a good idea she had given up all worldly attachments (including Mako) which was what Aang had to do unlock the Avatar State as well in season 3."

Oh really?

Haha I thought he was referring to Iroh when he made the grandfather remark, but now I remembered that makes no sense

Yeah, Zuko (as far as we know) only had a Daughter who is the current Fire Lady while Zuko sails around the world. Iroh is the prince.

I half wanted Old Zuko to be on the ship being a chill old man to Iroh, but then Dante Basco would be talking to himself, and I'm not sure how I'd feel about that.

What about the other six chakra? Wouldn't she need to open those as well?

I think if they had Zuko appear in the series at all, they would probably get a different voice actor for him, like what they did with Katara. Dante Basco's voice is cool but it just wouldn't cut it for an old man.

When you detach yourself, you kinda cheat-sheet your way through the logic of the other ones.

Oh hey, so I'm not the only one who put that together. Neat! I was worried that maybe I was just reading too much into it.

You'd be blitzing the chakras.
