Then yeah, I'd say its okay. Cause if you can't buy it then you can't really help the industry. :U

That's how it was with the movie Arashi no Yoru Ni.

The only way i could ever see it was a fan-sub on youtube.

(By the way that is one of the world's cutest, sweetest movies)

Yeah, I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't exist in english, but as soon as it gets dubbed, I either buy it or stop watching it

English voices sound so wrong.
As far as I know, CrunchyRoll is legal.

If CrunchyRoll allows anime for download that they don't have the licence to, then it's illegal.

Unfortunately, a lot of anime doesn't get translated/have incorrect translations.

exactly

90% of illegal downloaders would stop downloading illegally if there was readily available non-dubbed anime with english subtitles available.

Or that DVDs come with both the dub and the original.

I had an old anime movie i liked to watch whose name i can't remember, it was something about Ninjas and the bad guy was Historical Figure Nobunaga Oda.

Anyways, the DVD came with English dub, original japanese with subs in every regular language, a spanish dub, AND a french dub. Holy fuck.

Now if all anime DVDs were like that i would buy them and never download illegally.

90% is far, far too generous.

I doubt that many people would be pop flyin' if they suddenly had to pay for something they had been watching for free on the internet.

Just look at game piracy.

you also have to look at the people who wouldn't actually buy the anime even if it was readily available to them, people who wouldn't spend cheddar on it regardless of how easily accessible it is to them. does the industry lose cheddar from people like this?

What about if an anime has been dubbed, but you missed episodes for one reason or another and you watch episodes to catch up and then resume watching them on TV once you know whats going on?

Hm... Awful lot of 'what if' scenarios.

I don't know, I'm with you guys saying if its available to buy, go with that route instead of illegal downloading. The only series I ever watched as a whole was a fansub was Ginga Nagareboshi Gin and Ginga Densetsu Weed. Because it will likely NEVER be dubbed and available here.

But I did watch Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood too for a while. So it would be awfully kettle-pot-black of me to completely condemn people who still download illegally. It's not right but I used to do it a lot watching through youtube.

Naruto is, at least. I would assume their other shows are as well, since they started charging membership fees

Heroman is pretty bad-booty old-school comic type Anime.
Anyone here watching it? Stan Lee appears in it.

I should probably mention that some dubbers like funimation give you the option to watch their shows streaming on their site.
And only the english dubbed versions have commercials. (Which are really short anyway)
