Just bought a Wintersun album, the cover art reminded me of the style of cover arts for other artists I like so I thought they'd have a sound I'd like.

And I didn't like it. I do not like raspy growling vocals.
I should really stick to just buying CDs of artists I know I like instead of buying CDs of artists I haven't heard before.

Edit: I went and returned one of the unopened Wintersun albums I got and found out about Hammerfell.
I like these. Got 2 of their albums.
Also found out about Power Quest, this is my type of metal.

Thinking of making a playlist of 80s music, does anyone have recommendations? I know a few songs and bands but might miss some good ones.

Edit: Upbeat and energetic music preferred

Can't go wrong with Oingo Boingo, yo. Hell, pick a Stand and you'll probably get a good song or two.

Nonpoint was incredible as always, but I was even more impressed by The Helvetica Effect opening for them. They're a local band (and I mean this metropolitan area local, not just the same area code or whatever) and I'm kinda sorta acquainted with the frontman so I've seen them play bars and clubs before, but they exploded tonight. People were singing along and everything, I had no idea they were gaining such traction.

Bought Stratovarius - Eternal album and Sonata Arctica - The Days of Grays album.

Love both of these.

"ZZ Top is cancelling their Welcome to Rockville appearance due to Dusty Hill's recent injury."

That sucks.

"Rob Zombie and Five Finger Death Punch will be able to play longer sets to cover the absence."

I am suddenly okay with this.

I've been listening to Fun's Aim and Ignite a lot recently.

It's really good, I don't know why I disregarded it for some reason when it came out.

Dog Problems by The Format (same singer) is really good too.

I was recommended Babymetal once when looking for different metal bands.

I bought their Metal Resistance album and I have listened to nothing else for the past 2 days.
Road to Resistance, Yava! and No Rain, No Rainbow are my favourite songs on the album.

The only one I didn't like that much on the album was Meta Taro.

It was a bit jarring at first hearing the mix of metal and j-pop but when I got used to it I loved it so much.
