What
I got to the end and said "that's it?" to myself several times
It was bodaciously eleven minutes of "let's spend time together" "we never do anymore" "I was jealous"
The only noteworthy thing was when she turned into Rose to belittle Greg, which I admit was pretty serious shit
And yet it crashes and burns the instant Steven says the line about the cat
"He was oblivious ha ha" no, fuck no he is obviously smarter than that, he saw and heard the entire fucking conversation please do not degrade his character for the sake of a canned laughter-tier "fakeout"

Haven't you realized by now that Steven acts oblivious a lot to spare the gems' and his dad's feelings? Didn't you watch The Test? I think his rant at the end of the episode got his message across just fine even though he intentionally phrased it as if he was talking about the garage.

It was about more than 'let's spend time together, I was jealous'. Amethyst--and likely Garnet and Pearl--still miss Rose very much. She was basically their leader and perhaps a mentor as well. Amethyst still felt bitter that Rose's relationship with Greg led to Rose's "death".

The only criticism I have about the episode is that the symbolism of the garage (things in the past that weigh us down and keep us from living in the present unless we take the time to sort them out) was very heavy-handed, but it's a kid's cartoon. It's allowed to lay the symbolism on thick so that its audience will understand.

I actually just watched that episode today, and you're right. That is an interesting side to his character.

I admit I was overlooking the fact that they still miss her, but that still doesn't change much. It's not very groundbreaking, of course that would be the case, it's not like it was out of the blue. Claiming this as revolutionary in its intensity is a bit of a stretch.

Finished Brief Lives, volume 7 of the Sandman series. I haven't the fortitude to go on.

Steven Universe is doing an excellent job of getting me anxious about what'll happen when the gems from homeworld arrive. I'm glad Steven got to tell them he knew what was going on though.

Jeez, calm down

Cartoon Network's Youtube channel managed to up and spoil the climax of the second part of the latest episode, and most of the episode in general by association
But, it was really good, I normally don't care for the musical numbers but that one was great

Meanwhile, I just saw episode 45, and it was pretty emotional, but I dislike the fact that there's severe undertones to it, it just seems too forced

Episode 46 was okay, and the joke they made at the end was funny.

Meanwhile, episode 47 was not so great
Steven's reaction to the refridgerators at the donut shop versus his inspiring speeches just throw his personality off. One minute he's a young, impressionable boy, and the next he manages to stop an entire riot with his words, and that just ruins the immersion. And unlike The Test, there was no excuse for this.

However, overall this is turning out to be a decent series. Despite being spoiled, I still eagerly await the two-parter to be uploaded onto Cartoon Network's website
The one complaint I have is that this has all been one big season, and the two-parter isn't even the season finale, or at least it isn't counted as one. Apparently the final episode of the season is just going to be another episodic kind of episode that doesn't affect much continuity.
As a side note, did you know that Nicki Minaj was the voice of Sugilite?

In other news, it turns out Cartoon Network is getting another animated Transformers series. It's like a mix of Animated and Prime (with a dash of Rescue Bots), so I have high hopes for it. I really dislike bad title drops, though, and there's one right in the trailer. Ick.

Okay so there's one thing about the new Steven Universe that I'm sorta confused about

The show drops a couple hints that imply Ruby is blind--she tells Steven to shut up because she 'can't see', Sapphire kisses her eyes when they reunite, etc. But the rest of the time she acts like she's perfectly able to see. She's clearly able to see Lapis, at least when she gets closer to her. Extremely near (short) sighted, maybe? Haha maybe that was the point, idk.

Why the heck did they air episode 50 yesterday? Why didn't they just wait until next Thursday?

Uh, because this week was the Steven Bomb marathon where they've been airing a new episode every day?

Oh

I didn't know that

I haven't been actually watching TV, I've just been using the app, but looking back it was kind of obvious

I just thought of something

Ruby said she "can't see" because she's using Sapphire's song to "see" where she is, or just trying to focus on her location in general

Assuming it's kind of like Future Vision. It seems like Ruby is the one with Garnet's foresight powers. (Maybe Sapphire has the gauntlets, can you imagine that?)

Either that or it was a slip during recording that they left in, and the real line was "can't hear"

EDIT: Well, there's this

Also Sapphire's song was part of Stronger Than You

Also Stronger Than You shares notes from Bill Withers' "Just The Two Of Us" which may in fact be intentional
