Not surprisingly, Sapphire is a cyclops, which explains why Garnet only has three eyes rather than four

Ruby seems kind of childlike while angry in this episode, which makes it kind of weird, but I pretty much ignored it, because the rest of the episode was pretty solid.

How is that weird? The Disney Universe has a 51st state called Calisota, Fallout has a commonwealth instead of the traditional state system, fictional USA's can pretty much go hogwild

Uh, no. It was a commonwealth before the war, there's no country at all afterwards. Closest thing you have to a U.S in that setting is the New California Republic, everything else is just different factions.

We already knew Steven universe took place in a fictional history though, even discounting the gems. It takes place in the state of Delmarva, which is based off of the real-life Delmarva peninsula in Maryland and Delaware. (Specifically though, Beach City is in what would be Maryland, since it has a 443 area code.) Making Pennsylvania into Keystone (the silhouette was identical to PA, Delmarva's isn't identical to MD's) is kind of expected.

You get to take more liberties with your setting if you don't use something that exists in real life.

if you look at the earth in jail break, you'll see that florida isn't even connected to the US anymore, it's just kinda off floating around.
