I agree wholeheartedly. Red Soul in particular I think is astounding. I heard they were thinking of making a film adaptation a few years ago, and I really hope they pick that back up again; I think mainstream animatation could use a piece like this.

Considering there are some French studios that have done some delightful eurocomic adaptions before, I'd be very interested in that.

Pfffft!

That's just Rarity being Rarity; She's stuck-up like that.

If any of you are looking to get into comic books but have no idea where to start or how to navigate the absolute clusterfuck that is mainstream comic continuity, this is a great place to start. Hint: use the sidebar.

Sonic the Hedgehog #250 (Worlds Collide #9) has some incredible artwork going on; I think Ben Bates has proved himself to be the better penciller for this Mega Man/Sonic crossover thing - I think Tracy Yardley struggled a bit with drawing the Mega Man characters.

The story has picked up a bit from the mid-point lull as well (Eggman is scheming again).

I went to RTX last weekend and saw episode 1 of Rooster Teeth's new project RWBY, which premieres to everyone else in a week. They actually managed to make something solid out of it; the voice acting seems to be drastically improved over the trailers. We also got to see a little bit of episode two, with even more solid voice acting. Shit, they even managed to make an intro for it to give it even more of an anime feel.

Is it just me, or has Spiderman always been absolutely insufferable? Ive been rereading back issues of Spidey, used to love him as a kid, and... he is such a whiny BITCH now. Its like he's allergic to having any kind of advantage in the world, its like he has some sort of masochistic desire for his life to be as miserable as humanely possible. I dont know why I never noticed, but he's completely unenjoyable now.

Well his life is pretty shit. I'd go as far to say that he's pretty much the most miserable comic book character.

I know, right? Im guessing its some sort of abortive attempt at making the reader identify with him, but when you have superpowers that could improve your life immesurably, completely within legal means at that, but then not do it out of some half baked morality your dead uncle catchphrased at you, it just boggles the mind.

Because if he did, he'd be no better than the people he fights against.

Spiderman is the more believable superhero. He never fully wins, and things are never perfect for him, which makes the victories sweeter and the losses a bit worse. He's still young, so his inexperience bites him a lot, and often he's caught to where he can't seem to make a choice without it kinda backfiring on him.

That's something that's been with him longer than most of the other heroes.

And regardless of legality, I'm sure tabs are being kept on him no matter what he does. Whether it's SHIELD or other groups. If he steps out of line (or rather, the line they want him on) I'm sure shit would go down (and I'm sure this plot point has come up before).

Yeah, but I dont mean rob a bank, I mean stuff like NOT voluntarily letting high school bullies assault him, or maybe use his powers to make cheddar legit instead of desperatly trying to hang on to low income jobs he always gets fired from because he cant keep a regular schedule because of his heroics. How is that being as bad as the people he fights? He wont even use his skills to their full potential, instead being masochistically dedicated to clinging to a wretched lower middle class existance. And hes not even that inexperienced, he's been crimefighting longer than most other superheroes, its just that they keep rebooting him so they can dump him back in school, because its more "relatable". I dont even feel sympathy for him anymore, because he absolutely refuses to use resources very much at his disposal to improve his life.

Well you're exaggerating a bit. Spidey has never been rich, but he's used his science to hold a decent job in a lab in the past. Most of his biggest problems, like selling his marriage to the devil or having his body stolen aren't as easily solved.

As well, if you've been keeping track, Spider-Man isn't a whiny bitch any more, he's a person with a massive superiority complex.

To be fair Octavius is using Parker's resources to maximum effectiveness. Unbreakable adamantium webshooters, high tech HUD lenses so that he doesn't have to stop by the lab whenever he needs something like infrared vision, nano-spider-tracers he can leave in an enemy's bloodstream using the laws he added to the new suit, and a large number of mini-robots that keep watch over New York all big-brother-like.

The recent arc where he was on The Raft acting as back-up security for Alistair Smythe's (the Spider-Slayer) execution shows how far he'll go to prove that he's superior to Parker in every way.

Also, if you want a good Spider-Man related read that isn't about a body-snatching supervillain, then I recommend the recently started ongoing "The Superior Foes of Spider-Man". It follows the new Sinister Six, and judging from the first issue it's a daisies good read. There are also the continuing series Scarlet Spider and Venom. They're also releasing a little mini-series called "Superior Carnage" this month.

Another thing I kind of like about Superior Spider-Man is that it's given us a new iconic cover to use.. It's already been used in Scarlet Spider, and Superior Carnage is going to be using it for its first issue as well.

Ultimate Spider-Man is okay, but the story goes so fucking slow and Miles is in the middle of his obligatory "Someone important in my family died, I'll never be Spider-Man again!" Phase.

Red vs Blue Season 11 is underway. So far it's stuck to its roots; blues and reds dicking around in a box canyon. Looks like things are about to pick up steam though as of this latest ep.
