As well, if you've been keeping track, Spider-Man isn't a whiny bitch any more, he's a person with a massive
superiority complex.
To be fair Octavius is using Parker's resources to maximum effectiveness. Unbreakable adamantium webshooters, high tech HUD lenses so that he doesn't have to stop by the lab whenever he needs something like infrared vision, nano-spider-tracers he can leave in an enemy's bloodstream using the laws he added to the new suit, and a large number of mini-robots that keep watch over New York all big-brother-like.
The recent arc where he was on The Raft acting as back-up security for Alistair Smythe's (the Spider-Slayer) execution shows how far he'll go to prove that he's superior to Parker in every way.
Also, if you want a good Spider-Man related read that isn't about a body-snatching supervillain, then I recommend the recently started ongoing "The Superior Foes of Spider-Man". It follows the new Sinister Six, and judging from the first issue it's a daisies good read. There are also the continuing series Scarlet Spider and Venom. They're also releasing a little mini-series called "Superior Carnage" this month.
Another thing I kind of like about Superior Spider-Man is that it's given us a
new iconic cover to use.. It's already been used in Scarlet Spider, and Superior Carnage is going to be using it for its first issue as well.
Ultimate Spider-Man is okay, but the story goes so fucking slow and Miles is in the middle of his obligatory "Someone important in my family died, I'll never be Spider-Man again!" Phase.
