I'm willing to give the book a shot. I have some disposable income I can use on it next time I head to the LCS.

Peopl are talking about comic book authors in the Movies thread, and that reminded me that I really need to check out some of Grant Morrison's work. I have heard nothing but good things about the Animal Man series, but I am also interested in Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. Is that a good graphic novel?

Personally I love it, it was the first Morrison book I read, but you really need the extended edition that includes Morrisons original script to understand all the symbolism in the extremely surreal artwork. Its essentially a surrealist painting in comic book form. The story is perfectly easy to follow without it, it is in bare bones a straight up Batman story, but there's a lot of magic symbolism, references and underlying themes that is missed if you dont have detailed knowledge of psychology and magic symbols.

Thanks; I'll see if they have the extended edition there as well. If not, there are a good amount of other comic shops here in Houston that might.

Man, Hellblazer #96... Constantine's one bleedin' brilliant bastard, but the poor sod just can't seem to get a break.

Holy shit, Son of Man and Haunted were a bit of a dip, but Azzarello's run on Hellblazer is fucking splendid so far.

I ordered the first volume of Saga today, as it's the best comic I've seen released in years.

Gotta say I like Slugterra quite a bit.

The whole concept of shooting slugs (i.e. gastropods - not bullets) at people is quite bizarre, though.

So Green Lantern TAS and Young Justice ended this last Saturday. Time to make room for Batman Show #970 and Chibi Teen Titans Comedy.

Oh no I just finished Volume 6 of Atomic Robo and now I'm all sad about an entirely fictional A.I. construct built by Alan Turing in the fifties.

In all fairness, the Batman shows tend to be pretty good across the board, atleast since the TAS. Granted, dont have huge hopes for the CGI one, but maybe they'll surprise me

Yeah, I'm not sure how well this series is gonna go over, especially since it'll be seen as replacing good series that were cancelled.

Transformers: MTMTE #15.

Holy. Shit.

James Roberts continues to impress me.

Also, the Sonic the Hedgehog/Mega Man 12-issue crossover starts next month; Hold your breath and clench your buttcheeks because this is either going to be really, really great - or terribly, terribly bad.
