I picked up MLP:FiM issue 1 + 2 from my comic shop.

Issue 1 has a *sparkle* *sparkle* cover with real glitter and everything.

The writer and artist have captured the spirit of the show too - mad expressions and everything.

I much prefer being able to follow the ponies' antics in illustrated form - I can properly absorb the artwork, expressions... and everything.

*sparkle*

I can't believe ThunderCats got cancelled and then some stupid-booty Lego rip-off called Lego Chima gets to air. Yes, it's called Chima, like chimeras I guess.

I hate Cartoon Network so much. ThunderCats could have been so awesome if people just gave it a fucking chance instead of wanting it to live up to impossible expectations.

I don't think LEGO can be blamed for the dropping of Thundercats just because that toy line was (apparently) inspired by Thundercats.

I've always imagined that Thundercats was cancelled because sales of the (actual) Thundercats toys didn't live up to expectations. I didn't think the show itself was that bad - some stories were actually pretty good (admittedly others were not).

I know, but it still feels like a punch in the gut to have actual Thundercats cancelled and its inspiration take its place.

I also hate that toy sales are still a factor in the success of a cartoon. The 80s are over. I don't even remember any toys being marketed for ThunderCats. Meanwhile Lego gets a free pass because it's fucking Lego.

As long as its marketed to kids, merc sales is going to be the main factor, sadly

Been reading New 52's Flash and it's great. The art deserves a special mention, especially the panelling and flow. Probably the best thing to come out of New 52.

Definitely one of the best. I think All-Star Western is awesome as well.

It always seems like the guys behind awesome shows like that get utterly shafted by nearly everyone. I would love to see some kind of independent animation network on the Internet give people more freedom and funding to do whatever they want without fear of ratings or executives.

There kinda is, but online series are crippled by their lack of budget.

Ideas like this are why Kickstarter got off the ground in the first place

Gonna go get Superior Spider-Man #1 and other assorted comics tomorrow Missed out on getting it today (Wednesday because of the weather. I can't wait to see all of the whiny fanboys in the letters section.
