Ultima II Massage leaked and it is so good oh my god, definitely lives up to the hype

I was super fucking excited to learn today that HELLYEAH is coming to town in a month. But then in the ensuing investigation I found that the lineup changed last month. The bassist, Bob Zilla, was replaced and the lead guitarist, Greg Tribbett, is just gone.

Greg Tribbett, formerly of Mudvayne, 1/3 of the reason I loved this band so much.

I mean, I obviously still have to go see the show, but... man.

Also, apparently they're playing alongside Adrenaline Mob, featuring Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER SWOOOOON).

Promoting local artists and stuff.

Anaal Nathrakh are almost done with their next album. Can't wait.

I think I'm going to slowly start abandoning MP3 and reacquire all my music in FLAC. I'm tired of having my library be a Frankenstein of bitrates, I'd much rather have everything in lossless format on my PC and then re-encode them in a more space-efficient format like Ogg Vorbis for my phone. I'm gonna start with the lower bitrate stuff first, but it'll take a long time to replace all 7000 MP3 files I have.

And that's not including video game music.

In the process of acquiring FLACs, I came across some 24-bit 192KHz vinyl rips. They take up a ton of space but I figured they had to be somehow special compared to regular FLACs in order for someone to bother making such a rip. After listening to a few songs, I have to ask what the point is. They sound no better than regular 48KHz CD rips, and they introduce typical vinyl static and crackling into a digital format. It's annoying enough that I'm just going to skip vinyl rips from now on.

Record Store Day was fun, stood around for 2 hours and they ended up running out of the one RSD exclusive thing that I wanted, but I still made some other good purchases and it was an overall fun experience.
